Built in an old fishermen’s village with local materials, Cerri Hotel gives you a practical Sicilian base by the water rather than a sealed-off resort where every evening follows the same script. The setting is central, yet the hotel sits on the slopes of a natural amphitheatre, with modern rooms, a garden and views towards the port, the sea and the castle in some categories.

English is spoken by the hotel team, alongside Italian and German. That matters when you are arranging a transfer, asking about the day’s food or trying to establish whether the boat leaves before breakfast. You also have a concierge, a tour desk and a 24-hour reception, so the place is set up for days that do not all run to the same timetable.

The mood is straightforward: swim, eat properly, walk into town and return to an air-conditioned room. Cerri Hotel suits divers who want the coast within reach but also want Castellammare’s restaurants and streets outside the front door.

You are in Castellammare del Golfo, Sicily, on Via Roma and close to the sea of Cala Marina. The water is around 50 metres away, and the hotel’s sandy beach is reached on foot in roughly 50 metres, with sun loungers and parasols waiting at the shore. Cala Petrolo Beach is about 0.3 miles away by road distance, while the longer run of Lido Sunrise Beach is about 1 mile away.

This is a town location, not an isolated coastal outpost. You can reach the centre of Castellammare del Golfo in around five minutes on foot, with named restaurants such as Cumpà, Posidonia and Nescy within a few hundred metres. Bars are close too, including Quemado Bar e Caffe di Di Gregorio Rosario and Boh il Pub nelle Scale.

For a non-diving day, the area gives you several directions to choose from. Scopello and the Zingaro Nature Reserve are available as excursions, while the archaeological site of Segesta and its temple are about 6 miles away by road. Falcone-Borsellino Airport is around 21 miles away by road, and Trapani Airport around 32 miles; the drive is described as taking about 45 minutes.

The room choice is mainly about how much space and outlook you want once the kit is put away. A single room keeps things simple for solo travel, while the double or twin options suit a couple who want a conventional base with a king-size bed. If the view matters, the double room with balcony and sea view gives you the clearest reason to choose one category over another; the deluxe double room has a side sea view instead.

For three or four guests, the triple and quadruple rooms make more sense than trying to turn a couple’s room into a storage locker with a bed attached. The triple room combines a king-size bed with a single bed, while the quadruple room adds two single beds. Family rooms are available, and children of any age are welcome; cots and extra beds can be requested according to the room selected.

Lunch runs from 12:30 to 14:30 and dinner from 19:30 to 22:00, so the evening meal is not an afterthought for people returning hungry from the coast.

Half-board is available. Drinks are not included with that arrangement, so keep that detail in mind when comparing board options. There is one named bar, the Pool Bar, beside the outdoor pool, with cocktails for the period when you want something cold in your hand and no further plans in your diary. Room service operates during limited hours.

The Main Pool is outdoors, with sun loungers and a pool bar built into the poolside setup. It is not heated, which makes it more useful as a proper warm-weather dip than as an all-season swimming facility. After a dive, that distinction is hardly academic: some days call for a swim, others call for a chair and a drink while the legs remember what they have been doing.

The beach is close enough for an uncomplicated change of scenery, with golden sand, loungers and parasols. Away from the water, bicycle rental, hiking and cultural excursions give you ways to spend a surface interval without turning it into another military operation. The hotel can arrange outings to Scopello and the Zingaro Nature Reserve, and boat excursions are available for seeing more of the coastline from the right side of the water.

Kayaking, paddleboarding and snorkelling add some activity without demanding a full expedition. Babysitting and a children’s menu make the hotel workable for family trips, while car hire is available if you want to reach Segesta or explore beyond the town at your own pace.

Free private parking is available on site, with no reservation required, which is useful if you are hiring a car for the airport run or the wider coast. The hotel is less than an hour’s drive from the ports and airports of Trapani and Palermo, with Falcone-Borsellino and Trapani airports the two nearby options.
