Layovers and airports

A long connection is not wasted time. For each of these hubs: what you can actually do in 2 hours, in 5, or overnight shower, lounge, airside hotel, a trip into town and what changes when you travel with 25 kg of gear.

How to read this page

Every entry splits the layover into four lengths 2 h, 2 to 5 h, 5 to 10 h, 10 h and over and says what to do in each. “Airside hotel” means sleeping without clearing immigration, so without a visa: it is the one thing that really sets these airports apart, so filter on it if your layover falls at night.
