Residence Il Baglio is an aparthotel-style base for divers who prefer a proper apartment to a standard hotel room. You get space to spread out, a kitchenette for the practical business of feeding yourself, and air conditioning for the part of the day when the Sicilian heat has done its work.

Couples can keep things simple in a smaller apartment, while families and groups have larger accommodation with separate bedrooms and, in some options, two bathrooms. The atmosphere is more independent than resort-like: you have your own entrance, living area and dining space, then the beach, restaurants and the town of San Vito lo Capo outside the door.

English, Italian and German are spoken by the hotel team. That matters when you are arranging arrival, asking about the area or trying to explain that the room key is not where it was five minutes ago.

Un Sorso di Sicilia, a bar, is around 0.45 miles away. That is useful after diving: you can walk out for dinner rather than start negotiating with the car, the parking and your legs.

For days away from the water, Monte Cofano Natural Reserve is about 6 miles away and the Riserva dello Zingaro roughly 6.5 miles away by straight-line distance. The residence also works as a base for visits to Scopello and Erice.

These are apartments rather than rooms dressed up with a kettle and a heroic description. After diving, that gives you somewhere to eat, sit down and let the day leave your shoulders alone.

For a more active day, the residence is a base for hiking and cultural excursions. The Zingaro Nature Reserve, Scopello and Erice are among the suggested outings, while Monte Cofano Natural Reserve is around 6 miles away. These are sensible choices for a non-diving day: scenery, walking and a change of horizon rather than another timed activity.

San Vito lo Capo Beach is close enough for a swim or a stretch of sand, and the local area also offers snorkelling, horse riding and fishing as activities arranged away from the residence. Families are welcome, with apartments suited to groups and children of all ages.

Trapani Airport is about 30 miles away by road, with a journey of roughly an hour. Falcone-Borsellino Airport is around 56 miles away by road, with a journey of about an hour and forty minutes. Airport transfers and shuttle services are available to arrange, while car hire can also be organised. Free public parking is available on site, with no reservation required.

Check-in runs from 14:00 to midnight, and you need to share your arrival time in advance. Check-out is from 01:00 to 10:00, which gives early departures some breathing room but makes a leisurely final morning less likely. Private and express check-in and check-out are available, as is luggage storage and a 24-hour front desk.

Wi-Fi is free throughout the property. Cash is accepted for payment, and pets are welcome without an additional charge. Parties and similar events are not permitted. Cots for children aged up to two can be requested, subject to the accommodation option, while extra beds are not available.
