Scuba Squad

Located in Qalamoun, Lebanon, Scuba Squad has been a fixture of the local diving scene since 2019. The centre is positioned at the Miramar Resort, Hotel & Spa, providing a central base for divers looking to explore the waters of northern Lebanon.

As a NAUI-affiliated centre, the operation focuses on building a strong local diving community. Whether you are visiting for your first shallow dive or are looking to progress through technical training, the centre is structured to support divers at every stage of their development.

The team is led by experienced professionals, including Instructor George, Instructor Maha, and DiveMaster Assem. The centre’s leadership includes founders Bilal Sidawi, a NAUI Instructor and First Aid Instructor, and Ghaleb, who has been teaching recreational and technical diving since 2019.

The instructional staff is well-qualified to handle a wide range of diver needs, with expertise spanning from Open Water instruction to technical diving and First Aid training. The presence of a Course Director on the team ensures a high level of oversight for both recreational and advanced training programmes.

The training catalogue is extensive, covering the full spectrum of NAUI certifications. Beginners can start with Discover Scuba Diving or the Junior Open Water Scuba Diver course, progressing through Open Water Scuba Diver (Autonomous-ISO Level 2) and Advanced Open Water Scuba Diver.

For those looking to specialise, the centre offers several advanced modules including Nitrox Diver, Deep Diver, Night & Limited Visibility Diver, and Rescue Scuba Diver & BLS. Technical divers can pursue specific training in Sidemount Diver and Drysuit Diver courses.

More advanced students can work towards the Master Scuba Diver rating. The centre also provides niche training such as the Underwater Digital Imaging Diver course and the Lionfish Hunter programme.

The centre operates a 10-metre boat, measuring 3 metres in width, which is used for local excursions. The vessel features a comfortable enclosed cabin and a marine toilet, providing a sheltered space for divers between dives.

For those looking to head further out, the boat provides service to the Reserved Islands of Tripoli. The vessel is equipped with life jackets and a high-quality sound system for the journey. Nitrox is available for boat-based diving.

Scuba Squad offers full equipment hire for divers who prefer not to carry their own kit. This includes all the necessary components for a complete dive setup.

The centre is also equipped to support night diving, with the appropriate kit and facilities available to facilitate these excursions.
