Vuelve al Oceano

Located in the Los Ríos Region of Chile, Vuelve al Océano is more than a standard dive centre. Founded by marine biologists Elisa and Felipe, the operation is built on a foundation of ecotourism and marine conservation. Every excursion is designed to bridge the gap between exploration and the protection of local ecosystems.

The centre operates out of the coastal localities of Chaihuin and Huiro, providing access to the unique marine environments of the Valdivia province. For divers looking to understand the science behind the scenery, this approach offers a perspective rarely found in purely recreational settings.

Vuelve al Océano offers a comprehensive range of PADI courses, catering to everyone from those taking their first breaths underwater to professional candidates. Beginners can start with the Open Water Diver course, with progression paths leading through Advanced Open Water Diver and Rescue Diver.

For those pursuing a career in diving, the centre provides Divemaster training. The curriculum also covers essential technical and specialty skills, including Nitrox, Deep Diver, and Night Diver. Beyond recreational certifications, they offer professional-level training such as Diving First Aid for Professional Divers (DFA Pro), Emergency Oxygen Provider, and Basic Life Support (BLS).

The centre provides full equipment hire for those not travelling with their own kit. This includes all the essential components for a comfortable dive, from regulators to exposure suits.

Seasonality plays a role in the local sightings; for example, the brown jellyfish (Chrysaora plocamia) can be observed in April. In December, there is the opportunity to see the white whale.
