The House of Dionysus and the Medieval Castle of Paphos are also within about a mile, so your non-diving day can contain rather more than a lie-in and a sun lounger.

After a hot day outdoors, the air conditioning is the detail that earns its keep; the balcony gives you somewhere to sit without having to go straight back into the street.

These are manageable outings rather than expedition planning, and they give you something concrete to do on a surface interval day.

For a slower afternoon, the private balcony, terrace and outdoor furniture provide places to sit, while the shared lounge and TV area keep things simple indoors. There is no need to turn every hour into an excursion; the harbour, seafront and nearby beaches are close enough for an unambitious wander before you return for a drink.

The driving approach follows the A6 towards Paphos and then continues towards Kato Paphos and the harbour before turning into Ayias Anastasias Street.
