Scuba Tortuga

Scuba Tortuga is an established SSI Instructor Training Centre based in Muggia, near Trieste. Since 2018, the centre has served as a technical hub for both recreational divers and those pursuing a professional career in the diving industry.

The centre's location provides access to a variety of Adriatic environments, ranging from local rocky reefs to more significant wreck and cave sites in Croatia and further along the coast. It is a place designed for progression, whether you are taking your first breath underwater or refining your skills as a professional.

As an SSI Instructor Training Centre, the facility is geared towards high-level instruction. This makes it a primary destination for divers looking to complete their professional path, from Divemaster through to Instructor levels.

Beyond scuba, the centre has operated as an SSI Freediving Centre since 2018. They provide structured training for apnea, including dynamic, static, and deep water disciplines, conducted in both pool and sea environments. The team also organises specialised events, such as cave exploration sessions led by experienced instructors like Andrea Marassich of GUE.

The course catalogue is extensive, covering the full spectrum of SSI certifications. Beginners can start with the Open Water Diver course, while those looking to expand their experience can progress through Advanced Open Water Diver and various specialties including Nitrox, Deep, and Wreck diving.

For those interested in low-visibility environments, the centre offers specific Night and Limited Visibility training. The professional stream is a core focus, providing the necessary training to reach instructor status. Additionally, the centre offers a dedicated freediving programme, including Basic Freediving and SSI Freediving Levels 1 and 2.
