Sirena Sardinia

Sirena Sardinia is the sole dive centre operating on the island of Sant'Antioco, positioned centrally within the Mediterranean. This location provides access to a unique underwater landscape shaped by volcanic activity and a rich maritime history.

The waters here are known for their clarity, with visibility reaching up to 40 metres. The combination of deep walls, underwater corridors, and varied seabed formations makes it a compelling destination for both local exploration and technical diving.

The centre is owned and operated by Dominika and Piotrek, who moved to Sardinia to share their passion for the local marine environment. They manage all aspects of the operation, ensuring a personal approach to every dive and training programme.

The team is multilingually proficient, with staff able to communicate in English, Italian, French, and Polish. This makes the centre a practical choice for international divers looking for clear instruction and easy communication during their stay.

The training programme is extensive, covering the full spectrum of SDI and TDI certifications. Beginners can start with Scuba Discovery or Open Water Scuba Diver courses, while those looking to refine their skills can enrol in Advanced Buoyancy Control, Deep Diver, or Drift Diver programmes.

Technical diving is a core component of the centre's expertise. The TDI curriculum includes Nitrox, Advanced Nitrox, Deco Procedures, Extended Range, and multiple levels of Trimix training, from Intro to Tech through to Advanced Trimix. Sidemount specialists can also complete SDI Sidemount Diver or TDI Sidemount courses. The centre is also equipped to provide training for Nitrox blenders and oxygen providers.

For divers travelling light, the centre offers full recreational equipment hire. This includes all the essentials required for a day on the water. Technical divers can also access specialised kit, such as twinset wings, sidemount wings, and stage tanks.

A variety of lighting options are available for night dives, including primary torches and DPVs. For those needing more gas capacity, steel 12L cylinders are available for hire. The centre also provides services for equipment storage and rinsing.

The marine life in this part of Sardinia is remarkably diverse due to the varying water temperatures. You will encounter a mix of species typically found in both warm and cool Mediterranean waters, often moving through the nutrient-rich Posidonia meadows.

Pelagic species are a regular highlight, with tuna frequently passing through the area. Divers may also have the opportunity to observe dolphins and various species of rays, including manta rays, patrolling the deeper sections of the reefs and walls.

In the calmer, shallower areas, you are likely to encounter sea turtles and a variety of reef-dwelling organisms. The volcanic structures and rocky crevices provide ample shelter for a wide range of marine life, making every dive a chance for new sightings.
