Dive Kooza

Dive Kooza is located in the Kushimoto area of the Wakayama prefecture, specifically operating out of Koza. The centre is built around a deep connection to the local coastline, offering divers the opportunity to explore both marine environments and river systems.

Since 2012, the team has been actively developing and exploring the previously uncharted areas of Koza. This local expertise allows them to select the best dive sites each day based on the prevailing marine conditions, ensuring you are always in the right place for the best possible experience.

The centre is led by Naofumi Ueda, who brings a decade of experience diving the Kushimoto region to the team. He is joined by Ryota Suzuki, a versatile instructor with expertise spanning technical diving, underwater photography, and boat captaincy. The team also includes Ui Yamazaki, an instructor and guide specialising in macro-photography and underwater photography.

The staff is highly multi-functional, with members serving as instructors, guides, and boat captains. This ensures a high level of professional oversight whether you are undertaking a technical course or a guided photography excursion.

Dive Kooza offers a progression of training from entry-level to advanced technical disciplines. You can complete your Open Water Diver and Advanced Open Water Diver certifications through their instruction.

For those looking to move beyond recreational diving, the centre also provides TEC Dive training. This allows divers to expand their capabilities into more technical underwater environments.

The centre provides a range of rental equipment for those not travelling with their own kit. This includes regulators, BCDs, wetsuits, and drysuits, as well as a four-piece set comprising a mask, snorkel, fins, and boots.

On-shore facilities are designed for practical use, featuring a main hall, a shop, and dedicated areas for washing equipment. For your comfort after a dive, there are private showers and separate changing rooms for men and women.
