B&B Diving 2.0

Located just a few steps from the small harbour in Camogli, B&B Diving 2.0 serves as a dedicated gateway to the Portofino Marine Protected Area. The centre has been established since 2012, providing a consistent base for divers looking to explore the diverse Mediterranean ecosystems of the Ligurian coast.

Because the centre is situated so close to the water, most dive sites are reached within a 10 to 15-minute boat ride. This proximity allows for efficient dive planning and ensures you spend more time underwater exploring the reefs and wrecks of the protected zone.

As a PADI affiliated centre and a member of the Scubapro Educational Association (S.E.A.) since 2006, the team maintains high standards of instruction and technical support. The staff is proficient in both Italian and English, making it easy to communicate technical details or course requirements.

Beyond recreational instruction, the centre operates a specialized laboratory for equipment maintenance and repair. They provide a six-month guarantee on all repair work, offering a level of technical reliability that is essential for those travelling with their own kit.

The training programme is comprehensive, covering the full PADI spectrum. You can begin with Bubblemaker or Discover Scuba Diving and progress through Open Water Diver, Advanced Open Water Diver, and Rescue Diver.

For those looking to advance their skills or professional career, the centre offers PADI specialties such as Nitrox Diver, Deep Diver, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Navigation Diver, and Night Diver. They also provide training for Divemaster and specialized courses like Dry Suit Diver and Research & Recover Diver.

The centre operates the BWA730, a RIB used for daily excursions. The boat is equipped with an oxygen kit and carries an additional cylinder positioned at 5 metres depth to assist with safety stops.

All dive trips are organized to access the various sites within the Portofino Marine Protected Area, including night dives. The short transit times from the Camogli mooring mean you can make the most of your time on the water.

The centre is a Scubapro technical partner, offering a complete range of Scubapro equipment for hire, including wetsuits, fins, BCDs, and regulators. For those who prefer to bring their own gear, the on-site facilities include hot showers and dedicated rinsing tanks for your kit.

Nitrox 32% is available on-site via a dedicated blending unit. The centre also houses a professional workshop equipped to handle all types of diving equipment servicing and repairs.

The marine life in this protected area is defined by its incredible structural diversity. You will find vast meadows of Posidonia oceanica providing a backdrop for schools of dentex, sea bream, and amberjack. The rocky walls and crevices are heavily colonised by red coral, yellow gorgonians, and various sponges and bryozoans.

Macro life is abundant throughout the reefs and caves. Divers can find a wide variety of crustaceans, including spiny lobsters, lobsters, crabs, and various species of shrimp. Octopus and moray eels are frequently seen sheltering in the rocky cracks, alongside nudibranchs and scorpionfish.

In the deeper, more current-swept areas, the biodiversity increases with the presence of large groupers, barracuda, and various species of snapper. The presence of red gorgonians and yellow gorgonians creates a vibrant, colourful environment that attracts a constant stream of smaller fish like damselfish and salps.

Divers should be aware that certain sites, such as Dragone, Secca dell'Isuela, and Punta del Faro di Portofino, are subject to notable marine currents. These areas require a higher level of experience to navigate safely.

While many sites offer sheltered environments, the vertical walls and deep canyons of the area can create varied conditions depending on the time of day and local weather.
