B&B Diving 2.0 about the centre

Located just a few steps from the small harbour in Camogli, B&B Diving 2.0 serves as a dedicated gateway to the Portofino Marine Protected Area. The centre has been established since 2012, providing a consistent base for divers looking to explore the diverse Mediterranean ecosystems of the Ligurian coast.

Because the centre is situated so close to the water, most dive sites are reached within a 10 to 15-minute boat ride. This proximity allows for efficient dive planning and ensures you spend more time underwater exploring the reefs and wrecks of the protected zone.

The club and its team

As a PADI affiliated centre and a member of the Scubapro Educational Association (S.E.A.) since 2006, the team maintains high standards of instruction and technical support. The staff is proficient in both Italian and English, making it easy to communicate technical details or course requirements.

Beyond recreational instruction, the centre operates a specialized laboratory for equipment maintenance and repair. They provide a six-month guarantee on all repair work, offering a level of technical reliability that is essential for those travelling with their own kit.

All dive trips are organized to access the various sites within the Portofino Marine Protected Area, including night dives. The short transit times from the Camogli mooring mean you can make the most of your time on the water.

Dive sites with B&B Diving 2.0

Relitto Mohawck Deer is a Canadian cargo wreck lying between 18 and 40 metres. It is a significant site for those interested in exploring a large structure, with the bow and hull providing numerous habitats for moray eels, groupers, and red gorgonians.

Secca dell'Isuela is a spectacular offshore site that functions as an underwater mountain. It is an advanced dive subject due to strong currents, but it rewards divers with vast fields of red and yellow gorgonians and large pelagic fish.

Scoglio del Raviolo features a fascinating siphon that leads to depths of 32 metres. The internal walls are lined with red coral and cave shrimp, while the surrounding reef is home to large groupers and lobsters.

Cristo degli Abissi is a shallower site featuring a 2.5-metre bronze statue of Christ. The statue sits at 13 metres, surrounded by banks of brown meagre and damselfish, making it an accessible and iconic location.

Marine life around Camogli

The marine life in this protected area is defined by its incredible structural diversity. You will find vast meadows of Posidonia oceanica providing a backdrop for schools of dentex, sea bream, and amberjack. The rocky walls and crevices are heavily colonised by red coral, yellow gorgonians, and various sponges and bryozoans.

Macro life is abundant throughout the reefs and caves. Divers can find a wide variety of crustaceans, including spiny lobsters, lobsters, crabs, and various species of shrimp. Octopus and moray eels are frequently seen sheltering in the rocky cracks, alongside nudibranchs and scorpionfish.

In the deeper, more current-swept areas, the biodiversity increases with the presence of large groupers, barracuda, and various species of snapper. The presence of red gorgonians and yellow gorgonians creates a vibrant, colourful environment that attracts a constant stream of smaller fish like damselfish and salps.

Diving conditions

Divers should be aware that certain sites, such as Dragone, Secca dell'Isuela, and Punta del Faro di Portofino, are subject to notable marine currents. These areas require a higher level of experience to navigate safely.

While many sites offer sheltered environments, the vertical walls and deep canyons of the area can create varied conditions depending on the time of day and local weather.
