You get a private entrance, a seating and dining area, and kitchen facilities, so your return from the sea does not have to follow the usual timetable of restaurant, room, repeat. There is room to make a coffee, cool a bottle of water in the fridge and sit down properly before deciding what happens next.

The residence is part of the wider Mandel Club, arranged across two settings: one complex beside Morcone Beach and another around 300 metres from the sea, in the greenery of the hillside. That gives you a useful choice of mood when booking: beachfront living, or a quieter position among the trees. The atmosphere is practical and informal, with a garden, outdoor seating, a shared lounge and a games room rather than a formal hotel routine.

You are in Capoliveri, Italy, at the Morcone locality on Elba. The property has direct access to Morcone Beach, while Innamorata Beach is about 0.7 miles away by road. Madonna delle Grazie Beach is around 1.3 miles away, and Spiaggia di Peducelli around 1.9 miles. In other words, you can stay put by the water or use the residence as a base for exploring several beaches without turning every outing into a major expedition.

The surrounding landscape is more island than resort strip. Elba Orientale is about 1 mile away, and the Parco Nazionale Arcipelago Toscano is around 4.3 miles by road. You have several restaurants within roughly 350 metres, including Albatros, Ristorante-Pizzeria Mandel and Drago. A minimarket is also on site, which is handy when you need breakfast supplies, something cold for the room or the small item that somehow never made it into the suitcase.

These are apartments rather than rooms dressed up with a kettle. Kitchenettes include a fridge, stovetop, kitchenware, coffee machine and electric kettle, with a dining table and seating area for the moments when you would rather eat in than head straight back out. The family apartments make the most sense when you are travelling with children or need separate sleeping arrangements; the larger one-bedroom apartment with its terrace and sea view is the more natural choice for a small group wanting space to spread out.

For two, the sea-view studio keeps things simple and compact. Other apartments give you more room without requiring a villa-sized commitment. A drying rack is provided for clothing, but it is not a substitute for proper diving facilities.

The table leans towards the island and the sea. Packed lunches are available, and special-diet menus can be requested. There is also an outdoor dining area, barbecue facilities and a picnic area, so you can keep the evening easy when a full restaurant meal feels like unnecessary ceremony.

The beach bar is the place for a drink with the shoreline still in view, while the restaurant is the more substantial option when the post-dive appetite arrives on schedule. Wine and champagne are available, as are children’s meals. No complicated dress code is given; sensible island clothes should do the job.

Morcone Beach is the main leisure space here, with direct access from the beachfront complex. A beach establishment provides sun loungers and umbrellas, and the outdoor areas add a garden, sun terrace, outdoor furniture and a sea-facing bar terrace. You can also use the private beach area and the on-site water-sports facilities, with kayak, canoe, paddleboard and windsurfing available.

If you want to move without committing to another serious sporting mission, bicycles can be hired and bike tours or mountain-bike excursions are available. Boat excursions, dinghy hire and pedal boats open up the coastline from the surface, while the games room, shared lounge and board games offer less demanding alternatives. After a long day, that may be exactly the point.

Evenings can include live music, local-culture tours, live sports broadcasts, themed events and a disco. Families have access to indoor and outdoor play areas, a children’s playground and books or games for younger travellers. Couples, meanwhile, can simply claim a table outside, order a drink and let the island do the entertaining.

Marina di Campo Airport is about 13 miles away by road. An airport shuttle is available and can be arranged with the property; car hire is also available. If you are driving, free private parking is on site and does not require a reservation. The location is much easier to enjoy with your own transport when you want to reach beaches and sights beyond Morcone.

Check-in runs from 14:00 to 19:00, and you need to tell the property your arrival time in advance. Check-out is from 07:00 to 09:00, which suits an early departure but is worth keeping in mind if your ferry or flight is later in the day. Private and express check-in and check-out are available.
