Diving Center Service Nereo Sub, DIVE & DIVIng

Located in Spotorno within the Savona province, Nereo Sub has been a fixture of the Ligurian Riviera di Ponente since 1989. The centre is positioned to provide direct access to some of the region's most significant underwater environments, most notably the protected waters of the Bergeggi island marine reserve.

Whether you are exploring the reefs around Noli or the deeper waters near Finale, the centre operates with a focus on both recreational and technical diving. The location allows for a diverse range of diving, from shallow reef flats to more challenging technical environments.

The centre is led by Salvatore 'Tato' Catania, an SSI Instructor Trainer. This status as an Instructor Training Facility (ITF) means the centre is equipped to train the next generation of diving professionals.

The team is composed of experienced instructors, guides, and ground support staff. This structured approach ensures that whether you are there for a holiday or professional development, the operation remains organised and professional.

Nereo Sub provides a complete spectrum of SSI training. For those starting their journey, they offer initial SSI courses, while experienced divers can progress through Advanced SSI courses and various SSI Specialties.

The technical department is well-established, offering SSI XR courses, including Trimix and Deep Diving. For those looking to professionalise, the centre provides training for those who want to teach, as well as Dive Guide (ISO 24801-3) certification.

Specialised skill development is also available through courses in Perfect Buoyancy, Dry Suit usage, Navigation, Search and Recovery, and Digital Underwater Photography. They also offer training in Night and Limited Visibility diving.

The centre operates a comfortable boat for excursions, providing access to the various dive sites across the Ligurian Sea. The vessel is well-equipped to handle the local conditions for both day trips and night dives.

On-site facilities include large, functional changing rooms and practical rinsing stations for your kit. The centre is also an official SUEX retailer, ensuring access to high-quality equipment.

For technical divers, the centre provides specialized support, including the availability of DPV (Diver Propulsion Vehicle) hire and various gas blending options. They offer a range of rentals to support your dives, including dry suit hire for cooler conditions.

The waters around the Bergeggi island marine reserve and the Ligurian Sea are home to a diverse range of Mediterranean species. You will regularly encounter various fish species, including conger eels and scorpionfish.

Macro life is a significant draw for many divers in this area. Keep a close watch for seahorses and various species of eels, such as Murray eels, tucked into the reef structures.

In certain seasons, you may also have the opportunity to see anglerfish.
