Teos Divers

Located in the bay of Sığacık, Teos Divers has been a fixture of the Turkish diving scene since the early 1990s. The centre is positioned perfectly on the axis between Kuşadası and Çeşme, just 45 minutes from Menderes Airport and 45km from the centre of İzmir.

What sets this area apart is the striking colour of the seabed. While much of the Turkish coast can appear quite monochromatic, the reefs here offer a level of biological colour and structure that many divers compare to the Red Sea. It is a distinctive corner of the Aegean that rewards those looking for more than just sandy bottoms.

Teos Divers, also known as the Hamdi Uygur Underwater Sports Centre, prioritises a controlled environment for both training and recreational diving. The team focuses on individual attention, implementing group size limitations to ensure that every diver receives the necessary guidance and safety oversight.

The centre is fully multi-lingual, with instructors and staff able to communicate in Turkish, English, French, and German. This makes the transition from a quarry training pool to the Aegean reefs much smoother for international divers.

As an affiliate of both PADI and CMAS, the centre is equipped to handle a wide range of divers, from those taking their first breath underwater during a discovery dive to experienced divers seeking advanced technical training.

Teos Divers provides a complete curriculum through both PADI and CMAS pathways. For beginners, they offer Discover Scuba Diving sessions to experience the underwater world before committing to a course.

For those looking to build a progression, the centre teaches Open Water Diver and the full range of CMAS certifications, from One-Star to Three-Star Diver. Advanced divers can specialise through PADI courses such as Advanced Open Water Diver, Deep Diver, Wreck Diver, and Navigation, or progress towards the Rescue Diver level.

The fleet includes two main vessels: a large two-deck boat with a 360 HP MAN engine, capable of carrying up to 36 divers, and a 100 HP speedboat for more agile trips. The main boat is designed to accommodate large groups while providing the stability needed for comfortable diving.

Night dives are a regular part of the programme, with the boats equipped to facilitate these excursions. The setup allows for organised departures, typically following a scheduled morning and afternoon dive rhythm.

The shore facilities are comprehensive, designed to support both the training school and the dive expeditions. The centre includes a dedicated classroom, an office, a maintenance and repair workshop, and a compressor room housing two compressors. For diver convenience, there are changing rooms, hot showers, and a dedicated area for rinsing and drying kit.

Equipment availability is high, with a significant inventory to support divers. This includes 50 steel cylinders, 50 aluminium cylinders, 500kg of lead, 40 BCDs, 30 regulators, and 60 wetsuits and boots. A range of masks and fins is also available for hire.
