Poindimie - Tiéti Diving

Tieti Diving is a human-scale dive centre situated in the lush greenery of Poindimie, on the East Coast of Grande Terre. The centre is located within the Tieti Hotel grounds, just behind the restaurant on the path leading to the beach. It operates daily, providing a base for divers to explore the local waters, except for the 1st of January.

The centre is uniquely positioned as the only diving operation located directly on the dive sites. This proximity allows for efficient logistics and immediate access to the surrounding reef, which has been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2008. The team places a strong emphasis on ecology, offering de-briefings on the local ecosystem and maintaining a dedicated library for divers.

The team is led by Stéphane, an SSI Advanced Open Water instructor with various specialties. The centre maintains an SSI affiliation and focuses on a professional, convivial atmosphere where safety is the priority. All equipment is regularly checked, maintained, and renewed to ensure reliability.

For those travelling with family, the centre offers specific services including childcare and the option to mix scuba diving with snorkelling (PMT). The staff is experienced in managing diverse groups, ensuring that both novice and advanced divers feel supported throughout their time on the water.

Tieti Diving offers a comprehensive range of SSI training programmes. Beginners can start with Basic Diver, Scuba Diver, or Open Water Diver courses. For those looking to advance, the centre provides Advanced Open Water Diver, Deep Diver, and Navigation specialties.

Technical and professional training is also available, including Nitrox, Rescue Diver, and Divemaster certifications. The centre also offers Refresher courses for those returning to the water. Please note that for all SSI e-learning courses, all digital modules must be completed before your first dive.

The centre operates a HighField semi-rigid boat powered by a 300 CV Yamaha engine. It is designed to accommodate 12 divers equipped with two cylinders each. The vessel is equipped with a sunshade (taud solaire) and a boarding ladder to facilitate easy access for divers.

To ensure comfort during navigation, windbreakers are provided on board. For surface intervals, the centre provides hot drinks and cakes. The boat is kept at the quay for easy loading, and the team handles all transport to the water.

The shore-based facilities include hot showers and a dedicated station for gas blending. The centre is the only multi-gas filling station on Grande Terre outside of Nouméa, equipped with Coltri/Bauer compressors (40m3/h), a Nitrox membrane (40m3/h), and a multi-gas booster. They provide Air, Nitrox, Oxygen, and Trimix.

For divers requiring hire kit, the centre uses recent Mares equipment. This includes 12L steel cylinders for Air and Nitrox, 12L aluminium cylinders for Nitrox, and 7L aluminium decompression cylinders. Regulators are Mares Rover 2S DIN models, paired with Rover BCDs and 5.3mm Rover wetsuits that include hoods. They also stock 2L and 3L oxygen cylinders for rebreather use, as well as Sofnolime 797 lime for canister recharges.
