Jom Adventure

Jom Adventure is situated in Kg Air Batang (ABC) on Tioman Island, Malaysia. Established in 2019 by Capt T.I, the centre has quickly become a focal point for divers looking to explore the local marine environment through a structured and professional lens.

As a PADI 5 Star Dive Center and a designated PADI Eco Center, the operation balances technical training with a commitment to the local ecosystem. Whether you are arriving for your first Discover SCUBA Diving experience or you are an experienced diver looking for a dedicated buddy for a drift dive, the centre is set up to manage diverse requirements.

The team at Jom Adventure is composed of certified instructors and Divemasters who focus on personalised diving experiences. Their approach is built around safety and a deep connection to the underwater topography of Tioman.

Training is comprehensive, covering the full spectrum of PADI progression. You can work through your Open Water and Advanced Open Water certifications, move into Rescue Diver, or pursue professional tracks such as Divemaster.

The course catalogue is extensive, catering to both recreational and specialty interests. Beginners can start with Discover SCUBA Diving or the PADI Open Water Diver course, while more experienced divers can progress through Advanced Open Water, Deep Diver, and Rescue Diver.

For those looking to refine their skills or move into professional diving, Jom Adventure offers Divemaster training, Peak Performance Buoyancy, and Night Diver courses. They also provide technical and niche training, including Sidemount Diver, Wreck Diver, and Search & Recovery Diver certifications, alongside Emergency First Response and Emergency Oxygen Provider training.

The centre provides full equipment hire for those not travelling with their own kit. This includes BCDs, regulators, wetsuits, and fins, ensuring you have reliable gear for the local conditions.

For those who prefer to use their own equipment, the centre is well-equipped to support you. Nitrox is available for divers looking to extend their bottom time, with a surcharge applied per cylinder.

The reefs around Tioman are home to a diverse array of pelagics and reef species. You can regularly encounter Jack (Carangidae), Great barracuda (Sphyraena barracuda), and various Snapper (Lutjanus) patrolling the water column. Large schools of Fusilier (Caesio) often move across the reef, while whitetip sharks and Blacktip reef shark (Carcharhinus melanopterus) are part of the local ecosystem.

On the reef structure, you will find plenty of life amongst the corals, including Butterflyfish, Angelfish (Pomacanthidae), and Wrasse (Labridae). Turtles are frequently seen navigating the seascape, and you may spot Nurse shark (Ginglymostoma cirratum) or Green moray (Gymnothorax funebris) tucked into the crevices.

For those with an eye for macro life, the area offers plenty of interest. Look out for Nudibranch (Chromodoris willani), Cuttlefish (Sepiidae), and various Scorpionfish (Scorpaenidae) camouflaged against the substrate.
