My Scuba Tioman

Located in Kampung Tekek on Pulau Tioman, My Scuba is an established SSI Diamond dive centre. The centre serves as a central hub for divers looking to explore the diverse marine environments of the Pahang coast, ranging from shallow reef flats to deeper, more challenging sites.

Beyond standard recreational diving, the centre is deeply integrated into local conservation efforts. They actively participate in environmental initiatives, including Reef Check Malaysia surveys and the Cintai Tioman community project, ensuring that the local ecosystems are monitored and protected.

The team consists of two instructors providing high-standard training and guided excursions. They maintain a strict diver-to-guide ratio, typically limiting groups to 4 or 5 divers per instructor to ensure safety and personalised attention during skills acquisition or reef exploration.

As an SSI Diamond centre, the facility is recognised for its commitment to training quality and operational standards. All instruction is conducted in English, making it accessible to the international diving community.

The course catalogue is extensive, covering the entire SSI progression. Beginners can start with SSI Try Scuba or Scuba Diver programmes, progressing through to Open Water Diver and Advanced Open Water Diver certifications.

For those looking to refine their skills or specialise, the centre offers Peak Performance Buoyancy, Deep Diver, and Wreck Diver Specialty courses. Safety and rescue training is also a core component, with options for the React Right course, Rescue Diver, and the combined React Right and Rescue Diver programmes.

Professional divers can train for the Divemaster level, while Nitrox users can complete the Nitrox Specialty Program. The centre also provides EFR (Emergency First Response) training.

The centre provides a complete range of rental kit for those not travelling with their own equipment. This includes regulators, wetsuits, fins, and masks.

For those interested in extending their bottom time or conducting night dives, torches are available for hire. Nitrox is available on-site for divers looking to optimise their decompression profiles during multi-dive days.

The reefs around Tioman are home to a variety of tropical fish and larger residents. You can regularly encounter turtles, Blacktip reef shark (Carcharhinus melanopterus), and Eagle ray (Aetobatus) patrolling the waters.

Macro enthusiasts will find plenty to observe, including various species of Nudibranch. The area is also a noted location for spotting Sea snake (Hydrophiinae) in the more sheltered areas of the reef.

Large pelagics, including Great barracuda (Sphyraena barracuda), are often seen in the deeper, more current-swept sites like Tiger Reef.

Diving conditions vary significantly depending on the site selected. While the shallower reefs near the island remain relatively calm, the more distant sites such as Chebeh, Labas, and Tiger Reef are subject to difficult currents that require a higher level of experience and buoyancy control.
