Sail Caribbean Divers

Operating in the British Virgin Islands since 1999, Sail Caribbean Divers has established a long-standing reputation for reliable recreational diving. Founded by two passionate PADI instructors, the centre has grown into a multi-location operation that serves divers across several key points in the islands.

You can find them at three strategic locations: Hodges Creek Marina and Moorings Marina on Tortola, as well as Cooper Island. This positioning allows for efficient access to some of the most iconic dive sites in the region, whether you are looking for shallow reef flats or deeper wreck penetrations.

The centre is a PADI affiliated operator with a deep history in the local waters, having been established for a quarter of a century. Their commitment to environmental standards is reflected in their PADI Green Star Award.

Instruction is conducted in English, covering everything from initial entry-level courses to professional development. They also offer specific programmes tailored for teenagers, ensuring a structured environment for younger divers looking to start their underwater training.

The training programme is built on the PADI curriculum, catering to all stages of a diver's progression. Beginners can start with the Discover Scuba Course or work towards their Open Water Diver certification.

For those looking to advance their skills or career, the centre offers a full range of Professional Courses. This allows divers to move through the various levels of certification within a structured and experienced learning environment.

The fleet consists of three custom-built Newton dive boats, including World Cat models designed specifically for the demands of Caribbean diving. These vessels are built to handle the local conditions while providing a stable platform for divers to gear up and relax.

On board, you will find facilities designed for comfort and efficiency, including a spacious platform for easy entries and exits, easy-to-use ladders, and freshwater showers to rinse off after a dive. The boats are also equipped with marine toilets and a dedicated table for camera divers to manage their kit.

Sail Caribbean Divers provides a full range of high-quality, modern rental equipment for those not travelling with their own kit. This includes everything required for a complete setup, from regulators and BCDs to wetsuits and fins.

Safety is a priority on shore, with oxygen for dive emergencies available on site. The centre is well-equipped to handle daily dive operations, ensuring that cylinders and weights are ready for your scheduled departures.

The reefs are home to a variety of regular residents, including turtles, nurse sharks, and octopus. You will frequently encounter these species while navigating the coral structures and sandy patches.

In the wider area, dolphins are a notable presence that can be seen during your excursions. The biodiversity of the BVI ensures a varied experience across different dive sites.

The seascape itself is defined by healthy coral heads and diverse reef formations, providing the essential habitat for the local marine life to thrive.

Divers should note that the centre is closed during September. Aside from this seasonal closure, the availability of sites depends on the local conditions across the various marinas and island locations.
