Bloody Bay Scuba School

Located in Little Cayman, Bloody Bay Scuba School is the island's primary hub for diver training and exploration. It operates as part of Little Cayman Divers, providing access to some of the most iconic vertical walls and canyon systems in the Cayman Islands.

The centre is positioned to serve divers looking for a seamless experience, focusing on competence and safety. Whether you are completing a referral or heading out for a series of reef and wall dives, the operation is built around the unique geography of the Bloody Bay area.

The school is the only dedicated training facility on Little Cayman, catering to a wide range of certification needs. They specialise in Universal Referrals, making it easy for divers to transition between different agencies.

Instruction is available through multiple organisations, including PADI, NAUI, SSI, SDI, and IDEA. The team focuses on developing competent divers through a structured approach to both recreational and professional training.

The training programme covers the entire spectrum of scuba diving, starting with Discover Scuba Diving for beginners. The centre offers full Open Water Diver certifications, as well as Advanced Open Water, Rescue Diver, and Divemaster programmes.

Specialty courses are extensive, including Nitrox, Deep Diver, Night Diver, Fish Identification, and Digital Underwater Photographer. They also offer AWARE Coral Reef Conservation, Emergency Oxygen Provider, and Equipment Specialist training to help divers refine their skills and environmental awareness.

The Grace-sea, a custom 46-foot Newton vessel, serves as the centre's primary dive boat with a capacity for 20 divers. The boat is designed with diver comfort in mind, featuring easy-access ladders for exiting the water and tables specifically for camera gear.

Onboard facilities include freshwater and cold water for rinsing, snacks, and toilets. The Grace-sea is equipped to handle various trip types, including morning two-tank dives, afternoon single dives, and night dives. Nitrox is available for use on board.

The centre provides a full concierge and valet service, meaning instructors handle the heavy lifting of equipment setup, rinsing, and storage. This allows you to focus entirely on your diving rather than your kit.

For those needing to hire equipment, a full range of kit is available on-site, including masks, fins, snorkels, and wetsuits. Safety is a priority, with oxygen providers available on site.

The marine life around the Bloody Bay Wall is diverse, with pelagic species, sharks, and turtles frequently seen patrolling the deeper sections. You will often encounter groupers, snappers, and grunts hovering near the reef structures.

On the reef and canyon walls, the scenery is defined by large sponges, anemones, and various coral formations. Look for sea stars, crabs, and various species of eels tucked into the crevices.

Macro life and smaller inhabitants include seahorses, cleaning shrimp, and various crustaceans. Divers may also spot jawfish and different species of rays moving across the sandy plateaus.
