Sosua Diving Center

Sosúa Diving Center Adventures & Excursions is situated on the north coast of the Dominican Republic, approximately 25 km east of Puerto Plata. The centre sits directly on the coast, only 50 metres from the beach in Sosúa, providing easy access to the local dive sites.

The operation focuses on providing authentic experiences through small-group excursions. Their scope of activity extends beyond standard scuba diving to include snorkeling, freediving, and various land-based excursions such as visits to the Damajagua waterfalls or catamaran trips.

The team is composed of five experienced local instructors. They operate primarily in English and Spanish, ensuring clear communication for a wide range of divers.

There is a strong emphasis on personalised service and environmental responsibility. The instructors actively incorporate reef cleaning into their diving programmes to help protect the local marine ecosystem.

The centre offers a comprehensive range of Scuba Diving Courses for all levels of experience. This includes training for those looking to begin their journey in the water through to more advanced certifications.

In addition to standard scuba programmes, they also provide specialised training in freediving.

The centre provides high-quality diving and snorkeling equipment for hire. This includes essential kit such as wetsuits, masks, fins, and regulators to ensure you are well-equipped for your dives in the bay.

On-site facilities are designed to support both training and exploration, catering to those looking to rent a complete set of equipment or individual items.

The waters around Sosúa are home to various reef fish and large schools of fish that move through the bay. You will frequently encounter French grunt as you explore the different sites.

Beyond the larger fish, the marine life includes a variety of reef inhabitants that make the local ecosystem vibrant. The diversity of species is supported by the varied habitats found from the reef flats to the deeper canyon areas.
