Crystal Diving Centre

Crystal Diving Centre is a PADI Dive Resort situated in Belle Mare on the east coast of Mauritius. The centre is positioned within the Crystals Beach Resort, a four-star complex that offers a contemporary setting for your diving holidays. A shuttle service is available to transport you between the resort and the dive centre.

The location is ideal for accessing the varied underwater topography of the region, which includes coral reefs, walls, caves, and rock formations. The centre is well-equipped to handle a wide range of diving styles, from shallow reef exploration to more challenging drift dives and wreck penetrations.

The team is composed of qualified PADI instructors and Divemasters who lead dives and training programmes. All instruction and dive operations are conducted in English, ensuring clear communication for international divers.

Safety is a primary focus for the centre, which is a member of the Mauritian Scuba Diving Association (MSDA). They are equipped for emergency assistance with pure oxygen and first aid kits on site, and they maintain close links with local hyperbaric doctors for any necessary medical support.

The centre is also designed to be accessible, providing facilities and support for divers with reduced mobility.

The centre offers a complete range of PADI training programmes for all levels. Beginners can start with the Bubble Maker or Scuba Diver courses, or use the Open Water Referral to continue their training elsewhere.

For those looking to progress, the centre provides Open Water Diver, Advanced Open Water Diver, and Rescue Diver certifications. More experienced divers can pursue the Divemaster qualification or work towards becoming a Master Scuba Diver.

Dives depart from a catamaran equipped with two 90hp four-stroke Suzuki motors. The vessel is configured for efficient dive operations, featuring a dedicated cylinder rack that holds at least 10 cylinders, a boarding ladder, and ropes for descent lines.

Safety equipment is maintained on board, including a lifebuoy and a first aid kit containing 20 minutes of pure oxygen. The catamaran provides a stable platform for accessing the various reef and wreck sites around the east coast.

The centre provides a full range of rental kit from Scubapro, including T-one BCDs and MK2/2+ regulators. For thermal protection, they offer Oneflex 5mm wetsuits and Profiler 2.5mm shorties, alongside masks, fins, and snorkels.

On shore, the centre uses Coltri compressors to guarantee the purity of the air used for your cylinders. This commitment to equipment quality extends to the maintenance of all breathing apparatus and buoyancy control devices used by divers.

The waters around Belle Mare are known for regular sightings of large pelagic fish and vibrant coral formations. You can expect to see a variety of reef fish patrolling the structures during your dives.

Macro life and smaller inhabitants are found throughout the reef system, providing plenty of interest for those with a keen eye. The diverse habitats, from sandy patches to rocky outcrops, support a healthy range of marine biodiversity.

The area is known for drift diving, where divers use the natural movement of the water to navigate along the reefs or wrecks. These currents can vary depending on the site and the time of day.
