Kamari Blue Ride

Kamari Blue Ride is located on the Agia Fotini beach, approximately 11km from Chios town. The centre serves as a hub for exploring the southern part of the island, combining scuba diving with various other sea-based activities like kayaking and SUP.

As an SSI affiliated centre, they focus on both recreational exploration and formal diving education. The team is composed of locals who bring a deep understanding of the Aegean's specific marine environments and coastal topography.

The diving programme is led by certified instructors Antonis, Yiannis, and Spyros. Being locals of Chios, they provide a level of site-specific knowledge that is essential for navigating the various walls and canyons of the region.

The centre operates with a strong commitment to environmental stewardship. They actively organise beach and seabed clean-up projects in areas such as Agia Fotini, Kalikatsou, Monolia, Avlonia, and the Ai Yiannis cove to help preserve the local ecosystem.

The centre offers a full range of SSI certification programmes. Beginners can start with the Try Scuba Diving programme or work towards their Open Water Diver certification.

For those looking to advance their skills, the centre also provides pathways for professional SSI diver qualifications.

The centre operates the Kallia, a motorised boat with a capacity for 10 passengers. The vessel is used for trips to the various Venetiko dive sites.

On board, you can find refreshments and meat-free snacks served in zero-waste coconut bowls. The boat is captained by Spiros, ensuring a professional transit to the dive locations.

Full equipment hire is available on-site for divers who do not wish to travel with their own kit. This includes the essential components of a dive rig such as BCDs, regulators, and wetsuits.

For those looking for more specific items, fins and masks are also available for rent.

The marine life around Chios is diverse, with the rocky reefs and canyons providing plenty of cover. You will regularly encounter various fish species, sponges, and sea anemones throughout the dive sites.

In the crevices and around the large rocks of the Venetiko sites, keep a sharp eye out for macro life and cephalopods. It is common to find octopuses and cuttlefish hiding in the shadows of the reef.

For those enjoying deeper dives, the area is known for larger species. You may see groupers, tuna, and amberjack passing by the walls.
