Diving Center Blue Dolphin is a long-standing fixture of the Cretan diving scene, having operated in the region for three decades. Based in Elounda, the centre focuses on the diverse marine environment of the Mirabello Bay, where they work alongside marine biologists to advocate for the area to be declared a natural reserve.

The centre is situated directly on the seafront within the Sensimar Aquila Elounda Village complex. For those staying in various hotels around Elounda, the team provides complimentary transfers to the base, making the logistics of your diving trip straightforward.

The team is led by Lucky and includes marine biologists, ensuring that the ecological importance of the local sites is always part of the experience. They operate under both PADI and SSI affiliations, providing a wide range of professional training and recreational diving.

Safety and close supervision are central to their operation, with a strict limit of 6 divers per guide. This small group size allows for a more personalised experience, whether you are a novice or an experienced diver looking to explore new sites.

Instruction is available in English, French, and German. The centre caters to all age groups, with specific programmes for children starting from 8 years old, including Bubblemaker and Junior Open Water Diver courses.

A comprehensive catalogue of training is available through PADI and SSI, ranging from entry-level programmes like Discover Scuba Diving and Bubblemaker to advanced certifications. You can work through your Open Water Diver and Advanced Open Water Diver courses, or specialise with a PADI Deep Diver Specialty, Night Diving Specialty, Wreck Diving Specialty, or even Search and Recovery.

For those looking to progress professionally, the centre offers training up to the level of Assistant Instructor. They also provide specialised skills training such as the Fine-tuning Buoyancy Specialty and Fish Identification Specialty. Notably, all courses are conducted directly in the sea rather than in a swimming pool.

The centre operates two boats to facilitate excursions to the many sites scattered across the bay. These vessels allow you to access the more remote locations within the Mirabello Bay area.

Nitrox is available for use on your dives, allowing for extended bottom times or more relaxed safety margins depending on your certification level.

The centre maintains a high standard of equipment, featuring reputable brands such as ScubaPro, Cressi, and AquaLung. For those not bringing their own kit, a full range of rental equipment is available, though please note that dive computers and torches must be provided by the diver.

On-site, the centre is equipped with powerful BAUER compressors to ensure reliable air supply and Nitrox availability. The facility is designed for comfort, with regular maintenance and renewal of the rental stock to ensure everything is in good working order.

The Mirabello Bay area is known for its biodiversity, with visibility typically ranging between 25 and 40 metres. The centre explores over 25 different sites, offering a variety of environments for different diving styles.
