Volcano Diving Center

Located in Kamari Beach, Volcano Diving Center (also known as Scuba Greece) serves as a gateway to the unique marine environment of the Santorini caldera. The underwater landscape here is defined by centuries of volcanic activity, resulting in dramatic lava formations, steep walls, and complex cave systems.

Since its founding in 1999, the centre has built a reputation for high-quality service and professional standards. Whether you are looking for your first breath underwater or are a technical diver seeking deep volcanic sites, the centre provides the infrastructure necessary for a safe and focused diving experience.

The centre is led by Manthos Sotiriou, an instructor with extensive experience dating back to 1988. His technical expertise includes IANTD Nitrox-Technical Nitrox, Trimix, and Rebreather instruction, as well as being an SSI Assistant Instructor Trainer.

The team is experienced in handling a variety of divers, offering instruction in both English and French. Their background includes major exploration projects, such as the Britannic, which brings a high level of professionalism to their daily operations.

The centre offers a comprehensive range of training through SSI, PADI, CMAS, NAUI, BSAC, SDI, and IANTD affiliations. Beginners can start with introductory programmes or work towards their Open Water Diver and Advanced Open Water Diver certifications.

For those looking to advance their skills, the curriculum includes Rescue Diver, Divemaster, Nitrox, Deep, Wreck, Night Diver, and Cave Diver courses. Technical divers can access more specialised training, including Trimix and rebreather-related programmes.

The fleet consists of three specialised vessels designed for diving. This includes an 8.60m Scorpion RIB powered by twin 225cv Mercury OptiMax engines, which is capable of carrying up to 15 divers.

You will also dive from two 7.50m Humber semi-rigid boats, which have a capacity of 10 divers and are powered by twin 200cv Yamaha engines. The boats are equipped with a diving ladder, a freshwater shower, and shaded areas to ensure comfort between dives.

Onboard, you will find refreshments including water and soft drinks, as well as a refrigerator and a seating area. The boats are equipped to support various dive profiles, including night dives, and carry Nitrox and Trimix for technical profiles.

The centre provides full equipment hire for all activities, using Scubapro kit. This ensures that you have access to reliable and well-maintained regulators, BCDs, and other essential components.

For safety and technical diving, the facility is equipped with Nitrox and Trimix capabilities. On-site facilities include a freshwater shower to rinse your kit after your session.

The marine life is shaped by the volcanic environment, with fish being the most common residents you will encounter during your dives. The rocky structures and lava formations provide plenty of cover for various species.
