English, German and Greek are spoken by the hotel team, so you can deal with the practicalities of your stay without resorting to underwater sign language. Villa Naiada is an aparthotel in Nikiti, with the useful combination of hotel services and room to make your own arrangements.

The suites are built for people who want more than a bed and a place to drop a damp towel. Every unit has air conditioning, a balcony, a kitchenette and a private bathroom, with a sofa and seating area for the part of the evening when nobody wants to stand. For meals and drinks beyond the property, Nel Fuoco is about 0.6 miles away, and several bars sit within roughly half a mile. The practical advantage here is choice without needing to organise every evening around a car.

The main pool is outdoors, saltwater and large, with a swim-up bar. It is not reserved for adults, so the atmosphere can suit both couples and families. Sun loungers, beach chairs, umbrellas and pool or beach towels are available, leaving you free to choose between the pool and the sand when you want an afternoon with no timetable at all.

Naiada Spa offers massages, facials and a sauna. That is a useful sequence for a day when your shoulders have had enough of carrying bags, fins and the general consequences of enjoying yourself. A fitness centre and yoga classes are available too, although nobody will judge you for choosing the sun terrace instead.

When you want to leave the immediate surroundings, the hotel offers access to kayaking, paddleboarding, snorkelling, boat excursions and equipment hire. Cycling, walking and cultural excursions are also available. The combination works particularly well for mixed groups: some can head for the water, some can take a bike or a walk, and everyone can reconvene by the pool without needing a complicated transport plan.

Free private parking is available on site, with no reservation needed. Car hire is available, and the hotel also offers an airport shuttle. Luggage storage, a concierge, laundry and dry-cleaning services are available when your travel arrangements do not line up neatly with the room.

Check-in runs from 15:00 to 19:30, and you need to tell the property your arrival time in advance. Check-out is from 08:00 to 10:00 under the accommodation policy. The hotel site gives 14:00 for check-in and 12:00 for check-out, so confirm the times attached to your booking before planning a very early departure or a leisurely final morning.
