Blue Island Divers has been a fixture of the Antiparos diving scene for more than twenty years. Operating as a PADI 5 Star centre, they specialise in exploring the diverse underwater topography of the Cyclades, from sheltered bays to deep volcanic rocks.

Most dive trips involve visiting two different locations during a four-hour excursion. This allows you to experience a variety of environments, whether you are looking for calm, shallow waters for training or more complex cavern and wreck systems.

The team is composed of experienced professionals, including Laura, a Master Scuba Diver Trainer with international experience, and Albena, a Scuba Instructor. For those interested in the discipline of breath-hold diving, Gary is on hand as a Freediver Instructor Trainer.

In addition to technical diving instruction, the staff includes yoga teachers, providing a well-rounded approach to the water. The centre is well-equipped to handle a wide range of divers, from those taking their first breaths underwater to those pursuing professional certifications.

The centre offers a complete progression of PADI scuba courses, starting from Scuba Diver and Open Water Diver through to Advanced Open Water Diver and Rescue Diver. For those looking to progress professionally, Divemaster training is also available.

Beyond standard scuba, there is a significant focus on freediving. The curriculum ranges from Basic Freediver and Freediver levels up to Advanced Freediver, Master Freediver, and even Freediver Instructor training.

Specialised training is also provided through PADI Specialties and Emergency First Response courses. All course fees include the necessary online theory and certification fees.

The centre operates a boat with a capacity for 6 passengers, making for a small and focused group environment on each trip. These excursions typically last around 4 hours and cover two different dive sites per outing.

Full equipment hire is available on-site for divers who prefer not to travel with their own kit. The centre provides all the necessary items required for their various courses and explorations.

For training, the centre utilises PADI eLearning, which allows you to complete your theory at your own pace before arriving on the islands. This ensures that your time on the water is focused on practical skills and underwater experience.

The marine life around Antiparos is diverse, with many species inhabiting the various canyons and reefs. You can find large schools of Amber Jacks and Barracuda near Tourna Island, while the rocky outcrops often host Groupers.

Macro life is abundant in the crevices of the reefs. Divers frequently encounter Octopus, Moray eels, and Lobsters, as well as Scorpionfish hiding in the nooks of the volcanic rock.

In the smaller habitats, such as the caves and canyons, you may spot Synaptula Reciprocans (a long worm sea cucumber) or various other fish species. The site at Mick Jaggers Lips is particularly noted for its populations of Octopus and Morays.

The diving area includes several sheltered locations, such as Apantima Bay and St. Georges, which are protected from prevailing summer winds. These bays provide calm conditions that are ideal for training and Discover Scuba Diving sessions.

While many sites are sheltered, others like the Paderonisi Cavern or the deeper walls involve more complex topography. The centre's expertise helps in navigating these varied environments safely.
