FRENCH TOUCH DIVING - Malta

French Touch Diving is a dedicated diving club situated in Saint Paul's Bay, Malta. Located just 500 metres from the Buggiba/Qawra bus terminal, the centre serves as a base for exploring the varied underwater topography of the Maltese islands, including the neighbouring islands of Comino and Gozo.

The club focuses on providing a high-quality, community-driven experience for both beginners and certified divers. By prioritising small groups and personalised attention, the team ensures that every dive is conducted with a focus on safety and local knowledge, whether you are exploring shallow reefs or deeper Mediterranean sites.

The centre is led by founders Sébastien and Gaëlle, who operate a 100% French-speaking club. The team is composed of experienced instructors who share a genuine passion for the marine environment and professional instruction.

Safety and group size are central to their operation, with a strict limit of four divers per guide or instructor. This ratio applies to both recreational exploration dives and formal training courses, allowing for closer supervision and a more tailored experience.

The team also maintains an environmental commitment, supporting coral reef rehabilitation and protection projects. They are partners with French Kiss Divers in Asia, reflecting a broader connection to the international diving community.

French Touch Diving offers a comprehensive range of training through SSI, PADI, and FFESSM affiliations. For those starting their journey, the curriculum includes Scuba Diver and Open Water Diver certifications.

Experienced divers can progress through Advanced Adventurer, Deep Diving, and Nitrox courses. The centre also provides essential safety training, such as the Rescue course, and offers refresher or adaptation sessions for those returning to the water after a break.

The centre provides a range of equipment for hire, including wetsuits, masks, snorkels, and fins. For those looking for a more comprehensive setup, full kit hire is available on-site.

Divers have the option to use larger cylinder volumes, with 15-litre cylinders available for those requiring more gas. Nitrox is also available for divers looking to extend their no-decompression limits during exploration or training.

Diving in the area is characterised by access from the shore, which allows divers to reach many sites directly from the coastline. This can be a preferable option for those who wish to avoid the motion of a boat.

Water temperatures in the region typically range between 14°C and 29°C throughout the year.
