OK Diving Malta

Located in San Pawl il-Bahar, OK Diving Malta sits at the gateway to some of the most diverse diving in the Mediterranean. From the deep wrecks of Cirkewwa to the dramatic limestone formations of Gozo, the centre is positioned perfectly to access the best sites the Maltese archipelago has to offer.

The centre has been operating in the area since 2012, providing a reliable base for both local exploration and advanced training. Whether you are looking to dive the famous Blue Hole or explore the massive Um El Faroud wreck, the proximity to the northern coast makes logistics straightforward.

The team at OK Diving Malta consists of certified and experienced instructors capable of handling all levels of diver, from those taking their first breath underwater to professional Divemasters. The centre operates with a strict maximum ratio of four divers per guide, ensuring that every dive is closely monitored and personalised.

Communication is easy for international divers, as the team is proficient in English, Spanish, French, and Italian. This multilingual approach helps ensure that safety briefings and technical instruction are clearly understood by everyone in the group.

OK Diving Malta provides a complete curriculum through both PADI and SSI affiliations. For beginners, the range includes Discover Scuba Diving and the Bubble Maker programme, leading through to Open Water Diver and Scuba Diver certifications.

For those looking to advance their skills, the centre offers Advanced Open Water Diver, Deep Diver, and Wreck Diver courses. Professional training is also available up to the Divemaster level. Specialist training such as Nitrox and Emergency First Response is also provided to help you build a more robust diving profile.

While many dives are conducted via shore access or vehicle transfers to local dive sites, boat trips are available for specific excursions. These include trips to the island of Comino and various excursions to Gozo.

The centre is equipped with a BAUER charging station featuring a Securus filter, ensuring high-quality air for your cylinders. Nitrox is available on-site for divers looking to extend their bottom time.

Full equipment hire is available for those not travelling with their own kit. The shore-based facilities are modern and include a heated swimming pool, changing rooms, showers, and a restaurant. The centre also provides direct access to the beach for shore dives.

The wrecks and reefs are home to a high density of Mediterranean life. You will regularly encounter large groupers, barracuda, and amberjack, alongside various species of snapper and dentex. Moray eels and octopuses are frequently found patrolling the crevices of the rocky walls.

For those interested in smaller life, the crevices and sandy patches hold a wealth of macro species. Nudibranchs, sea slugs, and various species of shrimp and crabs can be found throughout the sites. You may also spot scorpionfish and various species of nudibranchs amongst the reef structures.

On the sandy bottoms and around the reef flats, it is common to see rays and soles. The rocky areas are also frequented by parrotfish, damselfish, and triggerfish, creating a vibrant ecosystem around the many shipwrecks.

Diving in Malta is best experienced between April and October. The region is known for its excellent visibility, which frequently reaches between 30 and 40 metres, providing clear views of the deep wrecks and underwater structures.

While the Mediterranean is generally calm, the centre reserves the right to adjust dive plans based on the prevailing swell and weather conditions to ensure safety.
