Alto El Quisco

Alto El Quisco is a small, practical base in El Quisco for couples, families and divers who would rather spend their money on the coast than on unnecessary hotel theatre. The useful comforts are here: private bathrooms, seating areas, flat-screen televisions and free private parking on site.

The feel is more guesthouse than full-service resort. You have a private entrance, tiled floors and rooms arranged for anything from a couple to a larger family group. Travelling with children or friends, the Triple, Quadruple and Family Rooms are the practical choices, with combinations of king-size and single beds. The Family Room accommodates the largest group, while the Quadruple Room gives four guests a more compact arrangement. Cots and extra beds are not available, so the booked room configuration matters here.

Each room has a private bathroom with a bath or shower, towels, a hairdryer and free toiletries. A wardrobe or dressing room deals with the clothes, while the seating area is useful when you do not want to spend the entire evening on the bed. The hotel's own leisure offer is deliberately modest. Your in-room seating area gives you somewhere to read, talk or stare at the television without having to go anywhere, and the private entrance keeps the arrangement simple when you come and go from the coast.

The better excuse to leave the room is outside. Las Conchitas Beach is close enough for an easy walk, with Playa Pequeña Quisco and Los Corsarios offering other stretches of the local coastline. For a change from sand and salt, Isla Negra House is around 3 miles away, while the area's plazas and the Humedal are within roughly 3 to 4 miles.

Santiago International Airport is about 65 miles away. The hotel has free private parking on site, with a reservation required, which is useful if your Chilean coastal itinerary is road-based. WiFi is free in the public areas rather than described as a room service, so plan accordingly if you need to upload photographs or sort the next day's logistics.

Check-in runs from 15:00 to 18:00, and you need to tell the property your expected arrival time. Check-out is from 08:00 to 12:00. Entry to the property is closed between midnight and 07:00, so late returns need planning. Payment is by cash, and payment before arrival by bank transfer is required.
