Eden Blue Caledonia

Located at the Marina de Pandop in Koumac, Eden Blue Caledonia serves as the sole dive centre on the west coast of New Caledonia's North Province. This positioning offers access to wild, untouched marine environments that remain largely shielded from the heavy traffic of more central diving hubs.

The centre operates with a strong commitment to environmental stewardship, holding an eco-label and adhering to the International Code of Conduct for divers. This focus on responsible diving ensures that the local lagoon ecosystems are respected during every excursion.

The centre is led by Charlène, a professional instructor holding the DEJEPS qualification for subaquatic activities. Her approach emphasises pedagogical clarity and a deep engagement with the local marine environment.

Safety and comfort are prioritised through small group sizes, with a maximum of six divers per guide. This ratio allows for attentive supervision, whether you are working through a certification course or exploring a new reef.

For those staying in the area, the centre offers practical amenities including hot showers, sanitary facilities, and a library filled with marine life publications to help you identify what you see on the reef.

Eden Blue Caledonia offers a structured progression of training through the ANMP and FFESSM frameworks. Beginners can start with Niveau 1 training, which consists of six sessions designed to build fundamental skills.

More experienced divers can continue their progression with Niveau 2 and Niveau 3 courses. These sessions are available on an individual basis for those looking to refine their technical abilities or advance their certification levels.

Excursions depart from the marina on a 7.60m semi-rigid inflatable boat (RIB). The vessel is equipped with a large bimini to provide shade for divers while on the water.

Most dive sites are reached within a 30-minute transit, making it easy to maximise your time in the water. For longer outings, the boat is prepared with tea and biscuits for the crew.

The centre provides full equipment hire for those not travelling with their own kit. This includes complete sets, though you will need to provide your own mask, fins, and snorkel if you prefer your own fit.

For those looking to rent more specific items, wetsuits are also available for hire.

The lagoon is home to a variety of tropical fish and vibrant coral formations. You can regularly observe humphead parrotfish, jacks, and various other tropical species moving amongst the reef structure.

Larger pelagics occasionally visit the area, including manta rays. The biodiversity of the reef is supported by a healthy population of corals that provide habitat for the local marine life.

Macro life and smaller residents are also present, including various species of tropical fish that inhabit the crevices of the reef flat.

The diving environment is characterised by the sheltered nature of the Koumac lagoon. Many of the primary sites, such as Jardin d’Eden, are specifically chosen for being protected from the swell, providing calm conditions for divers.
