Located in Luganville on the tropical island of Espiritu Santo, Pacific Dive has established itself as the most reliable diving hub in Vanuatu. Since opening in 2017, the centre has grown from a personal passion into a professional operation catering to both recreational enthusiasts and technical divers.

The centre is situated at The Espiritu Hotel on Main Street, providing a central base for your diving activities. It serves as a primary gateway to some of the most significant underwater history in the South Pacific, particularly the massive wartime wrecks that define this region.

The team at Pacific Dive is composed of highly qualified professionals dedicated to safety and high standards of service. Their approach is built on extensive industry experience, ensuring that every diver, from a first-time student to an advanced technical diver, receives precise guidance.

As an SDI and TDI affiliated centre, they maintain a strong focus on technical proficiency and equipment maintenance. They follow Australian standards for air quality and equipment care, which is a critical detail for those running Nitrox or Trimix profiles.

Pacific Dive provides a comprehensive curriculum through SDI and TDI. For those starting their journey, they offer SDI Scuba Discovery and Open Water Diver courses. Progression continues through Advanced Adventure, Deep Diver, and Wreck Diver certifications, as well as the Rescue course and Divemaster training.

Technical divers can access advanced training via TDI, including Intro to Tech, Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures, and specialized Trimix support. They also offer the SDI Open Water Scuba Diver Instructor course for those looking to enter the professional ranks.

The centre offers a full range of rental kit for those not travelling with their own equipment. You can find high-quality brands on-site, including Apeks regulators, X Deep BCDs, and Shearwater computers.

For technical divers, the facility is well-equipped to support advanced profiles. They provide manifolded twinsets, sidemount configurations, and rebreather support, including the availability of Sofnolime 797 Grade A. Decompression and bailout cylinders are also available for hire, and technical kit rentals include one free decompression tank when you hire technical equipment.

The wrecks and reefs of Espiritu Santo are teeming with life. On the larger structures like the SS President Coolidge, you will encounter large schools of barracuda and lionfish moving amongst the coral-covered steel. The Henry Bonneaud wreck is particularly famous for the hundreds of flashlight fish that swarm the structure during night dives.

Reef sites like Dany Island host a vibrant community of marine life, including spiny lobster, fusiliers, and various reef fish. You can often spot larger pelagics such as dogtooth tuna and Spanish dancers patrolling the currents, while large schools of baitfish congregate around the gorgonian fields.

Macro life and smaller residents are also present, including various reef fish and crustaceans. While sightings vary, divers may also encounter turtles and manta rays in the wider area.

The diving environment in Luganville varies between protected reef flats and open wreck sites. Many of the reef locations, such as Dany Island, are highly sheltered, resulting in little to no current and very calm water conditions.

For those heading to the deeper wrecks, be prepared for more varied conditions. While many sites offer excellent visibility, the depth of the wrecks requires careful planning and appropriate gas management, especially when diving the deeper sections of the President Coolidge or Million Dollar Point.
