Marine Create ITA

Located in the Shizuoka Prefecture, Marine Create ITA operates as a versatile outdoor hub near Numazu. Known locally as KAIYUSYA or Papas Club, the centre has been a fixture of the local leisure scene since 2001.

While the centre is deeply rooted in the local waters, it distinguishes itself through a multi-disciplinary approach. You can transition from a morning dive to an afternoon of river exploration or camping, all from the same base at Senbonohama.

The centre operates across two distinct sites, with the Papas Club located at Senbonohama and a second site at Yume-no-machi. This dual-location setup allows them to cater to different aspects of the local environment.

Instruction and guidance are provided in Japanese. The centre is geared towards a community of outdoor enthusiasts, integrating diving with snorkeling and river-based activities.

The centre provides a comprehensive range of equipment hire for various activities. For divers, a full selection of scuba kit is available, alongside snorkeling gear for those exploring the reef flat.

Beyond diving, the centre is well-equipped for land-based adventures, offering the hire of camping equipment and specialised gear for river activities. For those staying on-site, the facilities include dedicated areas for BBQ and camping.

The marine life in the Numazu area includes various pelagic species and interesting residents of the seabed. You may encounter the manta ray (Mobula alfredi) or ribbonfish during your dives.

On the bottom, look out for the glass goby inhabiting the smaller crevices. The local ecosystem supports a variety of species that make for engaging underwater observation.

Marine diving in this area is subject to seasonal changes, with sea diving not available during the winter months. When planning your trip, consider the seasonal shifts in accessibility to ensure the best experience.
