Tioman Dive Centre

Tioman Dive Centre is situated on the east coast of Malaysia, nestled within the Papaya Resort at Kampung Tekek. As an SSI Diamond affiliated centre, it serves as a primary hub for divers looking to explore the diverse underwater topography of Tioman Island.

The island offers an extensive range of diving environments, with more than 22 distinct sites available to explore. You will find everything from expansive coral reefs and deep walls to complex swim-throughs created by large rock formations and various wreck sites.

The centre is managed by MY SCUBA TRAVEL AND TOURS and operates with a professional team of three instructors. They maintain a strict instructor-to-diver ratio, ensuring that no more than five divers are assigned to a single guide during an excursion.

As an SSI Diamond centre, the facility adheres to high standards of training and environmental stewardship. They are officially certified by Green Fins and Reef Check Malaysia, reflecting a commitment to protecting the local marine ecosystem.

The centre provides a comprehensive range of SSI training programmes for all experience levels. For those new to the water, they offer Try Scuba and SSI Scuba Explorers to build foundational skills.

For certified divers looking to progress, the curriculum includes Open Water Diver, Advanced Open Water, and Peak Performance Buoyancy. More advanced training is available through the Diver Stress and Rescue course, leading up to professional level certifications such as DiveMaster.

The reefs are home to a variety of larger pelagics and common tropical species. You can expect to encounter sharks and turtles as you navigate the walls and reef flats.

Macro enthusiasts will find plenty to observe among the smaller details of the reef. Nudibranchs are regularly sighted, adding colour to the seabed and coral structures.

The marine life is diverse, with a steady presence of various tropical fish species throughout the dive sites.
