Beyond One Bar is a small, family-run operation located in Leiston, Suffolk. Founded in 2014, the centre is built on a foundation of long-term diving experience and a deep-rooted commitment to marine conservation. Their philosophy centres on sustainability, prioritising the reuse and recycling of equipment to minimise their environmental footprint.

The centre serves as a local hub for the UK diving community, offering a range of services from entry-level training to specialised technical courses. Whether you are looking to take your first breaths underwater or are an experienced diver looking to advance your technical skills, the team provides a professional and environmentally conscious environment.

The team is led by David Swain, a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer with more than 30 years of experience in the industry. As a family business, the instruction is provided by David and his children, ensuring a personal and dedicated approach to every diver. This multi-generational team brings a wealth of practical knowledge to both recreational and technical training.

Beyond their instructional capabilities, the team is deeply involved in the protection of the underwater world. Their commitment to the environment is reflected in how they run the shop and manage their equipment, encouraging a culture of care for the marine habitats they visit.

Training is available through both PADI and SSI, covering the entire spectrum of diver progression. Beginners can start with Trydives or the Open Water Diver course, with subsequent paths leading through Advanced Open Water, Rescue Diver, and Divemaster levels.

For those looking to move into technical or specialised diving, the centre offers a robust selection of courses. This includes Enriched Air Nitrox, Night Diver, Wreck Diver, and Drysuit Specialty, as well as more advanced training such as Full Face Mask diving and technical rebreather courses.

The centre operates a fully equipped shop in Leiston Town, stocking a variety of new and second-hand equipment for open water, snorkelling, and freediving. For those who prefer not to carry their own kit, a full range of equipment is available for hire.

Beyond retail, the centre provides essential maintenance services to keep your gear in top condition. They offer servicing for regulators, BCDs, dive computers, and cylinder inspections, making it a practical base for local divers.
