Dive Loft KRK

Located in the idyllic port of Vrbnik on the island of Krk, Dive Loft KRK offers a specialised approach to diving in the Kvarner Bay. The centre is built around a 100 m² converted warehouse that serves as a modern lounge and multimedia space, designed for divers to relax between sessions.

The operation is structured to provide both ease of access and variety, offering unlimited diving on four distinct house reefs. Whether you are looking for shallow plateau dives or deeper wall explorations, the proximity to these sites makes it an ideal base for frequent divers.

The centre is run by an experienced, multilingual team of instructors and divemasters capable of guiding you in English and German. This professional setup ensures that both local and international divers can follow instructions clearly and safely.

Training is comprehensive, covering everything from initial certifications to professional instructor training. The team is qualified across multiple agencies, including PADI, SSI, CMAS, and IAC, allowing for a wide range of course crossovers and specialised training programmes.

The training programme is extensive, catering to all levels from entry-level students to professional instructors. You can complete your PADI or SSI Open Water Diver, Advanced Open Water Diver, or Rescue Diver certifications here, alongside CMAS and IAC programmes.

Specialised training is a core part of the curriculum, with courses available in Nitrox, Deep Diving, Wreck Diving, Night Diving, and Drift Diving. More advanced divers can pursue technical paths including Decompression Diving, Dry Suit diving, and even Instructor Trainer levels through CMAS.

The fleet consists of three distinct vessels to suit different diving needs. The SIRENA is an 18m boat used for full-day excursions, equipped with a sun deck, toilets, a diving platform, and onboard catering including lunch and drinks. It also carries oxygen and a defibrillator for safety.

The MARIE is a 12m speedboot used for quicker trips, featuring a sun deck, toilets, drinks, and oxygen. For more intimate outings, such as individual excursions or night dives, the MIKI 1 is a 13m vessel that also provides a sun deck, toilets, drinks, and oxygen on board.

The shore-based facilities are designed for high-volume operations, featuring three L&W 450E compressors to ensure a reliable supply of cylinders. Nitrox is available for divers looking to extend their bottom time.

For those requiring rental kit, the centre stocks modern equipment from Scubapro and Mares, including BCDs, regulators, wetsuits, and computers. They also provide specialised items such as dive torches, masks, fins, and underwater camera housings. The facility includes hot showers, kit-rinsing stations, and a dedicated lounge area with Wi-Fi.

The reefs and walls are teeming with life, where you will find large schools of fish, including Saddled seabream and black-headed seabream. On the rocky structures, look for scorpionfish, various species of Crab (Brachyura), and octopus hiding in the crevices.

Macro enthusiasts will find plenty to observe, such as different species of sea snails, seahorses, and various crustaceans. You may also encounter large moray eels and lobsters tucked into the caves and ledges.

The larger pelagic life includes Tuna (Thunnus) passing through the area. In the seagrass meadows and around the reefs, you can spot various species of fish, including damselfish and several types of grouper.

Diving in the Kvarner Bay is influenced by the local geography, with sites ranging from shallow plateaus to deep walls. The centre offers night diving, which can reveal different behaviours from species like octopus and various crustaceans.

The availability of different boat types allows for flexible planning, whether you are looking for a short trip to a nearby reef or a full day exploring more distant wrecks and caves.
