Hang-Loose-Diving®

Hang-Loose-Diving® is located in Punat, a traditional fishing village on the island of Krk. This position provides an ideal gateway to the Kvarner Bay, where the seabed is characterised by a diverse mix of Mediterranean marine life and significant maritime history.

The centre's operations are centred on boat excursions that depart from the Punat quay. These trips typically visit the surrounding islands, including Plavnik, Kormati, Cres, Prvic, and Grgur, offering a variety of underwater topographies such as drop-offs, caves, and overhangs.

The team consists of young, experienced international instructors and dive guides. This international approach ensures a professional environment for divers of various backgrounds looking to explore the Croatian coast.

Safety is a primary focus of their operations, with oxygen systems available on all boats for emergency use. The centre is affiliated with IAC, SSI, and CMAS, ensuring that training and guiding meet recognised international standards.

The centre provides a full range of training through IAC, SSI, and CMAS affiliations. Beginners can start with the Open Water Diver course, while those looking to expand their technical repertoire can progress through the Advanced Open Water Diver and Advanced Nitrox programmes.

For divers interested in deeper or more complex environments, the Advanced Nitrox certification is particularly relevant given the depth and decompression profiles of some of the local wreck sites.

The centre operates excursion boats that depart daily at 09:00 from the Punat quay. These vessels are configured for full-day trips, typically returning to port between 15:30 and 16:30 depending on the distance to the dive sites.

Standard excursions include a mid-day break on board for lunch before heading to a second dive site. For those looking to explore the deeper wrecks or the islands of Prvic and Grgur, the boats are equipped to handle these longer itineraries.

The wrecks and rocky structures serve as significant artificial reefs. On the Peltastis, you can often find large moray eels patrolling the structure, while the Lina attracts various crustaceans and small schools of fish seeking shelter within the hull.

Throughout the surrounding islands of Cres, Kormati, and Grgur, the seabed is covered in lush Mediterranean flora. Divers will encounter a variety of drop-offs and overhangs draped in colourful marine vegetation and sponges.

The centre offers flexibility in its dive planning; if wind or weather conditions make boat trips to the outer islands difficult, they can switch to land-based sites on either side of Krk. This ensures that diving can continue even when the sea state is less than ideal for open-water crossings.
