Poseidon Diving Center

Poseidon Diving Center is situated in Ermones on the western coast of Corfu. The centre operates in the clear waters surrounding Ermones and Paleokastritsa, providing access to a diverse range of underwater environments.

The centre serves as a base for exploring more than 20 different dive sites. These locations vary from shallow reefs and tunnels to deeper walls, wrecks, and cave systems, catering to a wide spectrum of diver experience.

The centre is led by George Pappas, an instructor with a highly specialised background in commercial diving. His experience includes working as an IDSA Level 4 offshore saturation diver with hundreds of dives at depths exceeding 200 metres, as well as being a certified OXY-ARC underwater welder and cutter.

As an instructor, George holds qualifications across a vast range of disciplines for both SSI and ANDI. His expertise covers Open Water Scuba, Nitrox, Night Diving, Low Visibility, Dry Suit, and Cave Diving, alongside advanced specialties like Deep Diving and Wreck Diving.

The team provides instruction in English, German, and French. Whether you are a beginner starting with a Discover Scuba Diving experience or a professional pursuing a Dive Master or Assistant Instructor qualification, the instruction is delivered with a focus on technical precision and safety.

The centre provides a complete range of SSI and ANDI certifications. Beginners can start with Discover Scuba Diving or work towards their Open Water Diver qualification, with options for 12-metre or 18-metre certification levels.

For more experienced divers, the curriculum includes Advanced Open Water, Rescue Diver, and Divemaster programmes. Specialist training is also available, covering Nitrox, Deep Diving, Wreck Diving, Cave Diving, Night Diving, and Dry Suit proficiency. The centre also offers Diver Medic and Assistant Instructor training for those looking to advance their professional standing.

The centre operates two dedicated boats for dive trips. The first is an 8m semi-rigid RIB equipped with a 250hp two-stroke Yamaha engine, designed for quick transit to the dive sites along the coast.

The second vessel is a 6.5m fibre-glass boat powered by a 150hp two-stroke Evinrude engine. Both boats are used for daily diving programmes, night dives, and snorkeling excursions.

Full equipment hire is available on-site for divers who do not wish to travel with their own kit. This includes essential items such as regulators, BCDs, and exposure suits.

Nitrox is available for divers looking to extend their bottom times. The centre is equipped to handle the requirements of both recreational and specialty diving training.

The underwater landscape is home to a variety of fish species that frequent the reefs and walls. You can expect to encounter various colourful fish species throughout the dive sites.

Macro life and crustaceans are present among the rocks and crevices. Divers often spot lobsters hiding in the structure of the reefs or near the cave entrances.

The diverse habitats, from the sandy bottom to the more complex reef structures, support a healthy ecosystem of resident marine life.
