IDC Sardegna

Located in Golfo Aranci, IDC Sardegna serves as a dedicated hub for professional diving development in Sardinia. The centre specialises in the PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC), providing the bridge between recreational diving and a professional career.

Whether you are working through the theoretical e-Learning modules or engaging in in-person practical training, the environment is designed for serious candidates. The location offers access to the diverse marine landscapes of the Sardinian coast, providing an ideal setting for mastering instructor-level skills.

The centre is led by Course Director Luca Pelizzari and is supported by a highly specialised team. This includes 2 Master Instructors and 5 IDC Staff Instructors, ensuring that candidates receive direct, professional guidance throughout their training.

The team operates in both English and Italian, making the centre an inclusive environment for international candidates. While workshops are conducted in both languages, a good working knowledge of English is recommended for those intending to work in the global diving industry.

Instruction is highly personalised, with the IDC programme strictly limited to a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 8 participants. This structure allows for focused attention during both the academic and practical components of the course.

IDC Sardegna is a specialist centre for PADI professional training, focusing heavily on the Instructor Development Course (IDC) and the Instructor Examination (IE). They also offer a wide range of Specialty Instructor courses, including Deep Diver Instructor, Drift Diver Instructor, Wreck Diver Instructor, and Night Diver Instructor.

Beyond professional pathways, the centre provides training for various specialties such as Enriched Air Diver, Dry Suit Diver, and Full Face Mask Diver. They also facilitate OWSI Update and Renewal for existing instructors. For those looking to diversify their skills, they offer courses in Search and Recovery, Underwater Naturalist, and even specialised training like Mermaid Instructor and Adaptive Techniques Instructor.

The centre provides oxygen safety equipment on-site, which is essential for both training and standard dive operations. Nitrox is available for divers looking to extend their bottom time or manage nitrogen loading more effectively.

For Instructor Candidates, the centre assists in arranging convenient and affordable accommodation in the local area. Options range from single or double rooms in nearby B&Bs to shared apartments with kitchenettes, all located close to the operational headquarters.
