You are in Golfo Aranci, on Sardinia's north-east coast, directly by the sea and about 50 metres from a sandy beach. The hotel's beach access leads to a 150-metre stretch of golden sand with sun loungers and parasols. Prima Spiaggia Golfo Aranci is roughly 300 metres away by the mapped walking route, while Seconda Spiaggia is about 400 metres away by road and the other beaches continue along the coast.

Golfo Aranci port is about 0.3 miles away, useful if your Sardinian plans include a ferry to the Italian mainland. The town centre is around 1.2 miles from the hotel, with Bar Centrale only about 50 metres away and several places to eat within a few hundred metres, including Maki Cafè, Gelateria Paradice Cream and Ristorante Giampippo. Golfo Aranci railway station is about 0.7 miles away, and Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport is around 13 miles from the hotel.

For two divers sharing a room, the Classic Double Room or Large Double Room makes the most sense if you want more breathing space around a king-size or super-king-size bed. The Economy Double Room is the compact option for a short stay or a couple who would rather spend the daylight hours outside. Families and small groups have connecting rooms and triple arrangements, while the family room is configured for two adults and two children.

Every room has air conditioning, heating, a private bathroom with shower, towels, toiletries, a hairdryer and a bidet. Tile or marble flooring keeps the room easy to live with after a beach day, and the refrigerator is handy for cold water when you come back warm and tired. A flat-screen TV, Wi-Fi and a socket beside the bed cover the less glamorous but genuinely useful parts of the evening.

The hotel's room description gives every room a balcony and sea view, which changes the end of the day: you can sit outside rather than immediately collapsing indoors. Non-smoking rooms are available, and family rooms make the choice less awkward when children are travelling with you. There are no extra beds, so the connecting-room arrangement is the one to look at when your party needs proper separation rather than a careful exercise in luggage placement.

Breakfast is a buffet served from 07:30 to 10:00, giving you a reasonably early start before a morning in the water. Half-board is available, with lunch and dinner served at Ristorante La Lampara on the terrace. The kitchen is Mediterranean, with fresh local ingredients and an emphasis on seafood; the dress code is casual, as it should be when the day has involved a wetsuit.

If pizza is the more sensible answer to the question of dinner, the open-air Pizzeria serves lunch and dinner as well. Both venues follow the same service windows, from 12:30 to 14:30 and from 19:30 to 22:00. Vegetarian and gluten-free options are available, while room service operates on limited hours.

There are two bars. Bar La Lampara is the lobby bar, with cocktails, wine and spirits; the Pool Bar keeps drinks close to the water and also specialises in cocktails. It is a useful division of labour: one place for a drink before dinner, another for the poolside version of doing absolutely nothing.

The main outdoor pool is large and has a swim-up bar, so you can choose chlorinated water and a drink without putting your shoes back on. The direct beach access gives you a second setting for an unhurried afternoon, with golden sand, loungers and parasols already in place. For a couple, that is enough structure for a day without turning the hotel into an activity timetable.

The 100-square-metre Wellness Centre offers massages, facials, a sauna and a jacuzzi. There is also a fitness centre and yoga classes for anyone who prefers a gentle stretch to another excursion. It is a practical way to loosen shoulders and legs without pretending that holiday fitness needs to become a second profession.

When you want to leave the hotel, cycling and hiking are available, along with cultural excursions and trips to the La Maddalena Archipelago and Costa Smeralda. Kayaking, paddleboarding, sailing, windsurfing, kitesurfing, fishing and boat excursions are also offered, with equipment hire available. Live music provides an evening option when the bar is not quite enough but a full night out sounds like administrative work.

Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport is about 20 km away, and an airport shuttle is available through the hotel. Car hire is also available. Parking is provided nearby, and luggage storage helps if your arrival or departure does not line up neatly with your room. A concierge, reception safe, laundry and dry-cleaning services cover the small logistical jobs that otherwise tend to multiply during a diving holiday.

Free Wi-Fi covers the whole hotel. Cash, Visa and Mastercard are accepted. Children of any age are welcome, children aged three and over are charged as adults, and cots depend on the accommodation selected; extra beds are not available. Babysitting and a children's menu are available for family stays.

The hotel accepts cash as well as Visa and Mastercard, and pets can stay on request without an additional charge. That last point is useful if your travelling companion has four legs and no interest in decompression theory.
