Accademia Blu Diving Center

Located at the Istituto Nautico Cappellini in Livorno, Accademia Blu Diving Center offers a direct gateway to the marine biodiversity of the Tuscan coast. The centre is positioned to provide easy access to the local seabed, where the marine environment is particularly noted for its vibrant colours.

With over two decades of experience in the area, the centre focuses on sharing the specific wonders of the local underwater landscape. Divers can expect to find significant colonies of red coral even at relatively shallow depths, making the local sites accessible to a wide range of experience levels.

The centre is owned and operated by Maurizio Di Fiore and Riccardo Cappetti, both of whom are experienced diving instructors. Their combined expertise forms the backbone of the centre's operations, ensuring that local knowledge is passed on to every diver.

The team consists of five instructors, providing a structured environment for both recreational exploration and formal training. As an SSI affiliated centre, they follow standardised international protocols for all instruction and dive guiding.

The local marine environment is characterised by its impressive displays of fixed life. Red coral is a standout feature of the area, occurring in large quantities and appearing at depths as shallow as 14 feet.

The centre operates year-round, allowing for diving throughout the different seasons. Divers should always check local conditions regarding swell and currents before heading out on a trip.
