Asd Zingaro Diving Center

ASD Zingaro Diving Center is situated in the heart of Castellammare del Golfo, Sicily, serving as a gateway to the stunning Zingaro Nature Reserve. This protected marine area is renowned for its biodiversity and clear waters, providing a diverse range of underwater landscapes for every type of diver.

The centre operates with a philosophy of 'Slow Diving,' encouraging you to move calmly through the water to truly observe the marine life. This approach ensures that your dives are not just about checking off sites, but about sharing genuine emotions and respecting the delicate Mediterranean ecosystem.

The team consists of qualified, multilingual instructors who follow international ISO standards for all training. They prioritise small group sizes, ensuring a maximum of four divers per guide, which allows for a more personalised and attentive experience during both training and guided explorations.

As an SSI affiliated centre, they offer a structured progression for students. Whether you are starting with your first breath underwater or looking to specialise in advanced techniques, the instructors focus on safety and environmental stewardship throughout your journey.

A comprehensive range of SSI courses is available, starting from the initial Try Scuba Diving experience through to Open Water Diver and Advanced Open Water Diver certifications. For those looking to refine their skills, the centre offers Perfect Buoyancy and Deep Diving courses.

Specialised training is also provided for divers looking to expand their repertoire, including Enriched Air Nitrox, Wreck diving, and the Advanced Adventurer programme.

The centre provides a full range of rental kit for those who do not wish to carry their own equipment. This includes regulators, BCDs, wetsuits, fins, and masks.

For those interested in extending their bottom time, Enriched Air Nitrox is available on-site. The centre is also equipped for night diving, with torches available for hire to help you explore the reef after sunset.

The marine life around the Zingaro Reserve is exceptionally diverse. Along the walls and reefs, you will encounter large groupers, kingfish, and various species of moray eels and conger eels. Schools of anthias often guide you through the water, while scorpionfish and octopuses hide among the rocks.

For those interested in macro life, the crevices and sandy bottoms host a variety of creatures. You can find octopus, many species of shrimp, and various sea stars tucked into the seabed or within the canyons.

The ecosystem is supported by rich fixed life, including gorgonians, various sponges, and anemones. In the seagrass meadows and rocky areas, you will also find pinna nobilis and various types of sea stars, creating a colourful and complex habitat.
