Divetalia

Located in Ortakent at the Club Müskebi Hotel, Divetalia provides a reliable base for exploring the diverse marine landscape of the Muğla province. The centre is positioned directly on the water, with its boat moored at the hotel quay, allowing for efficient transitions from the shore to the dive sites.

The area around Bodrum is characterised by a mix of steep walls, underwater topography, and historical interest. Whether you are looking to explore the seabed around Black Island or navigate the currents near Kargı Island, the centre's location offers direct access to the best the region has to offer.

The instruction team at Divetalia is composed of PADI and CMAS professionals, with many instructors bringing between 3,000 and 8,000 dives to their roles. This depth of experience ensures that guidance is provided by those who know the local currents, depths, and seasonal shifts intimately.

All instructors are fluent in English, catering to an international community of divers. The centre maintains a strict ratio of one guide per diver, ensuring personalised attention and safety during both recreational excursions and technical training sessions.

The training programme is extensive, covering all levels of certification through PADI and CMAS. Beginners can start with the PADI Open Water Course or CMAS Introductory Diving, while those looking to refine their skills can enrol in Peak Performance Buoyancy or Underwater Navigation.

For more advanced divers, the centre offers a wide array of specialty courses, including Wreck Diver, Night Diver, Cavern Diver, and Sidemount Diver. Technical training is a key component of their curriculum, featuring SF2 eCCR Try Dives and full eCCR certification paths. The centre also provides professional training for those pursuing a career in diving, such as the PADI Divemaster Course.

The centre operates a 300 HP speed boat, which is moored at the Club Müskebi Hotel pier. This vessel is used to reach the various reefs, walls, and wreck sites scattered around the Bodrum peninsula.

Nitrox is available for use on board, supporting divers looking to extend their bottom times on deeper sites like the Ottoman Anchor or the various wrecks near Black Island.

The shore-based facilities are designed to support all aspects of a dive trip, including a dedicated classroom for theoretical instruction. Divers have access to a specific area for rinsing and drying their kit, alongside showers and toilets to ensure a comfortable transition after a dive.

Divetalia provides full equipment hire for those travelling without their own rig. For technical divers, the centre is equipped to support rebreather diving, offering SF2 eCCR courses including Air Diluent and Decompression modules.

The reefs and walls of Bodrum are home to a diverse range of pelagics and reef fish. You can regularly observe schools of barracuda, jacks, and dentex, alongside tuna and bonito patrolling the deeper waters. Groupers and lionfish are frequently found near the rocky structures and ledges.

In the sandy areas and around the wrecks, look for stingrays, octopuses, and various species of moray eels. Cuttlefish and squid are also common, providing excellent subjects for underwater photographers.

Macro life is plentiful throughout the region, with many divers spotting nudibranchs and various species of colourful crustaceans, including crabs and lobsters. You may also encounter scorpionfish and various types of shrimp tucked into the crevices of the reef.

For those looking for larger encounters, caretta caretta can occasionally be seen near the reefs and at Barracuda Point.

Diving in this region involves a variety of conditions depending on the chosen site. Some locations, such as Kargı Island and Flat Rock, are known for having strong currents that require experienced divers or the use of a DPV. Other sites, like the Smugglers Bay or the C-47 Dakota wreck, offer much calmer conditions suitable for all levels.

While many sites are sheltered, divers should always be mindful of maritime traffic when surfacing near the coastline. The water temperature ranges from 15°C in the winter to 25°C in the summer.
