Ramos de mar

Ramos de Mar is a small seaside hotel in Rincón, Colombia, with the beach doing much of the heavy lifting. Nothing here asks you to dress for dinner or negotiate a sprawling resort before reaching the water.

Rincón del Mar Beach is around 400 metres away as well.

The room choice is mainly about who is travelling and how much sleeping space you need. A Double Room keeps things simple for two, while the Triple Room adds a single bed beside the double. For a family, the bunk-bed layouts make more sense than trying to turn a couple’s room into a small expedition camp.

There are four restaurants listed among the hotel’s facilities, while the named restaurant is El Mirador. For drinks, the Beach Bar focuses on cocktails by the sand. It is the sort of arrangement that lets you move from lunch to a shaded drink without turning the evening into a search mission.

The main outdoor option is a large swimming pool with sun loungers. The beach adds golden sand, clear water, loungers and parasols, giving you an easy place to spend a surface interval or a full afternoon doing very little. Sometimes that is the correct recovery plan.

When you want more movement, the hotel offers snorkelling, kayaking, paddleboarding, boat excursions and equipment hire. On land, you can take part in hiking, wildlife observation and cultural excursions. Tayrona National Park and the Lost City Trek are among the excursions offered, giving you alternatives to another circuit of the pool when the legs are ready for something other than a deckchair.

Children over the age of three are welcome, and the family rooms help make the sleeping arrangements more workable for a group.
