Blue Life

Located in the San Andrés archipelago, Colombia, Blue Life has established itself as a cornerstone of the local diving community. With more than three decades of experience, the centre provides access to the unique marine environments of the Caribbean, ranging from shallow reef flats to significant deep-water structures.

Beyond standard recreational diving, the centre has built a reputation for high-level technical instruction. Whether you are looking to complete your first Open Water Diver course or are progressing through advanced technical stages like DSAT Tec 50, the facility is equipped to support your progression.

The centre is a family-run operation with a deep pedagogical lineage. The team is led by founder Eduardo García Palma, a pioneer of diving in the region, alongside his daughter Luisa F. Garcia, who brings 20 years of experience as a PADI instructor.

Technical training is overseen by Fabián García, a PADI Course Director. This level of expertise ensures that the centre can facilitate professional-level training and advanced technical certifications. The team is bilingual, providing instruction and guidance in both English and Spanish.

Environmental stewardship is integrated into the centre's identity. The staff is actively involved in coral reef restoration and the removal of abandoned fishing lines, ensuring that the local ecosystems are protected for future generations of divers.

The course catalogue is extensive, covering every stage of a diver's development. For beginners, they offer Discover Scuba Diving and the PADI Open Water Diver and Scuba Diver programmes. Progression continues through Advanced Open Water Diver, Rescue Diver, and Divemaster.

For those moving into technical diving, the centre provides DSAT Tec 40, Tec 45, and Tec 50 courses, as well as Tec Sidemount Diver training. They also facilitate professional instructor development, including PADI Instructor Development Courses (IDC), PADI MSDT, and Specialty Instructor training.

Specialised training is also available for Night Diver, Deep Diver, Wreck Diver, and Coral Reef Guardian certifications. The centre is a hub for professional training, supporting those aiming for the PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor or Master Scuba Diver Trainer levels.

The centre operates two dedicated dive boats, the Explorador and the Queen. The Explorador is powered by twin 350 HP engines, while the Queen uses twin 150 HP engines. Both are 31-foot Antillana style vessels with a capacity for 12 divers.

Onboard, you will find a sun protection canopy and a sound system. For safety and comfort, the boats are equipped with life jackets, fire extinguishers, and emergency DAN oxygen. Light systems are also available for night dives. Provisions such as water, coffee, and biscuits are provided during the trips.

Blue Life offers full equipment hire for divers, though you should bring your own dive computer. The centre is equipped to handle technical requirements, providing Nitrox and Trimix for advanced profiles.

Safety is a priority on shore, with emergency DAN oxygen available on-site. The facility is organised to support both recreational and technical divers, ensuring the necessary gases and support are ready for your scheduled departures.

The centre conducts guided dives by selecting sites based on the prevailing weather and sea conditions to ensure the best possible experience for the group.
