You have the sea close by, rainforest around you and a limited number of rooms rather than the usual holiday crowd. Families, couples and anyone who would rather hear the water than a poolside playlist will understand the appeal quickly.

The setting is easy to read: direct access to the beach, gentle sea conditions and outdoor space for sitting, swimming, kayaking or simply doing very little. That last option is not a failure of planning. It is often the sensible choice when the weather, the water and the shade have already done the day's scheduling.

Daily housekeeping is included.

The on-site restaurant keeps meals close at hand, with freshly prepared local and international dishes served in a relaxed beachfront setting. That matters when you come back hungry, salty and not especially keen to turn dinner into an expedition. You can eat with the sea in view, then leave the table without needing transport or a second plan.

Back on shore, you have a private beach area, a sun terrace, outdoor furniture, loungers and a garden. A spa and wellness centre offers spa facilities, wellness packages and massages, which is exactly the sort of sentence a tired back tends to appreciate. There is no need to dress the idea up more than that.

Couples can keep the afternoon simple with the beach, a massage and a drink at the bar. Families have outdoor play equipment, board games and puzzles, with babysitting and child services available. Hiking takes you towards island landmarks such as Twin Peaks and the waterfall; canoeing keeps the effort level under your control.

Arrival needs a little coordination.
