Anse Caraibe Plongee

Anse Caraibe Plongee is a long-established diving hub situated directly on the beach in Pointe-Noire. Since its founding in 2000, the centre has focused on providing access to the rich marine environments of the Cousteau Reserve and the surrounding Guadeloupe National Park.

Daily departures are scheduled for the morning and afternoon, allowing you to spend the rest of your day exploring the island. The centre operates with a focus on small groups, with a maximum of 15 divers per boat, ensuring a more personal experience on the water.

The centre is led by Jazz, a local Guadeloupean instructor and Brevet d'État professional with a lifelong connection to the local waters. His deep knowledge of the regional sites helps guide divers through both the well-known reefs and more secluded locations.

The team is composed of qualified instructors capable of managing a wide range of certification levels. They provide instruction for beginners through to advanced divers, following the standards of FFESSM, CMAS, SSI, and PADI.

A comprehensive range of training is available, covering both the French FFESSM/ANMP system and international PADI/SSI standards. Beginners can start with Scuba Diver or the Niveau 1/Open Water Diver courses, with subsequent progression through Advanced Adventurer, Deep Diver, and higher levels such as Niveau 2 and Niveau 3.

Specialised training is also offered, including the RIFAP and specific skills such as the computer specialty. For those interested in more advanced depths or technical profiles, the centre provides training for PE40 and PA40 aptitudes.

The centre operates boats that depart directly from the club, providing easy access to the Ilets Pigeon and the Cousteau Reserve. Each trip accommodates a maximum of 15 divers, maintaining a convivial atmosphere on board.

The centre offers various options for those not travelling with their own kit. While specific brands are not listed, they provide equipment for divers to use during their outings.

For those looking to extend their experience, dive computers are available for hire. The centre also facilitates night dives and technical dives, including wreck exploration.

The reefs are vibrant with life, particularly around the coral plateaus and walls. You will frequently encounter various reef fish, including jacks, sea bream, and many species of colourful tropical fish. Larger visitors such as great barracuda, nurse sharks, and moray eels are also part of the regular marine landscape.

In the more open areas and around the underwater mountains, you may spot more active species. This includes barracudas and various species of jacks patrolling the water column.

Macro life and crustaceans add detail to the seabed. Divers can find spiny lobsters, slipper lobsters, porcupinefish, and various species of sea turtles inhabiting the crevices and coral structures.

For those looking for specific highlights, the Royal Angelfish can occasionally be spotted among the more colourful reef residents.

Diving in this region is possible year-round, with stable conditions suitable for a wide range of skill levels. The sites vary from sheltered coves like L’Anse Négresse, which are ideal for introductory dives, to more open sites like Le Sec Pâté which may involve more open-water conditions.
