Nautica Plongee Caraibes

Nautica Plongée Caraïbes is situated on the Petite Anse beach, perfectly positioned between Deshaies and Pointe-Noire. This location provides immediate access to the diverse underwater landscapes of Guadeloupe's windward coast, from sheltered reef flats to open water sites.

The centre is deeply integrated into the local environment, holding the label from the Association Guadeloupéenne d’Écotourisme and acting as a member of the Guadeloupe Marine Turtle Network. This commitment ensures that your dives contribute to the preservation of the local ecosystems.

The team is led by Eric and Matthieu, both of whom are professional state-certified instructors (Brevet d'État) and PADI instructors. They manage all aspects of training and guiding, ensuring a high standard of instruction for both local and visiting divers.

Instruction is available in French, and the centre is equipped to handle a wide range of divers, including dedicated programmes for children. Whether you are completing your first certification or training for a professional guide level, the team provides structured guidance through both PADI and FFESSM pathways.

The centre offers a complete range of certifications through both the PADI and FFESSM systems. For those starting their journey, courses include PADI Scuba Diver and Open Water Diver, as well as FFESSM Niveau 1.

Experienced divers can progress through Advanced Open Water and FFESSM Niveau 2 or Niveau 3. The centre also provides specialised training such as the PE 12 mètres and PE 40 mètres, and offers the highest level of professional training up to Niveau 4 (Guide de palanquée).

The centre operates a 7.5m semi-rigid boat powered by a 225 hp engine. This vessel is designed for speed and stability, allowing you to reach more distant sites such as the Saintes or the Sec Pâté efficiently and safely.

The boat is suitable for a variety of trip types, including standard explorations, night dives, and excursions to the Réserve Cousteau. Its performance ensures that even when sites are subject to light currents, you can reach your destination with ease.

Full equipment hire is available on-site for divers who do not wish to carry their own kit. The centre maintains and regularly renews its inventory to ensure reliability and comfort during your dives.

In addition to standard adult equipment, the centre stocks specific gear tailored for children, making it possible for younger divers to participate in training and exploration with a proper fit.

The reefs are teeming with life, particularly around the coral massifs of Anse Thomas and the drop-offs of the Réserve Cousteau. You will frequently encounter green turtles and hawksbill turtles navigating the coral gardens. Large schools of fish, including platax, jacks, and Spanish mackerel, are common sights in the clearer waters.

On the walls and pinnacles, the scenery is defined by magnificent fixed life. You can observe vast fields of plume gorgonians and large sponges, as well as black gorgonians on deeper sites like Sec Pâté. The rocky structures also host various species of angelfish and large sea breams.

Macro life and smaller residents are abundant throughout the sites. Look closely for spiny lobsters, moray eels, and stingrays resting on the sandy bottom or near the ledges. You may also encounter various species of triggerfish and diverse colourful corals decorating the reef.

Diving in this area involves a variety of environments, from calm reef flats to sites with regular currents. La Pointe Ferry, for example, is known for its predictable currents which often bring active feeding behaviour from the local fauna.

Some deeper sites, such as the Gustavia wreck, may occasionally be subject to light currents. The centre's fast semi-rigid boat allows for efficient transit to these locations, regardless of the specific site requirements.
