Bubble Shop

Located in Saint-Martin, Bubble Shop serves as both a specialist marine equipment shop and a diving centre. The centre is positioned to take you directly into the heart of the local Nature Reserve, providing access to a variety of underwater environments.

Whether you are looking to complete a certification or simply want to explore the local reefs, the centre operates with a focus on small groups. Most excursions depart from the Marina de l’Anse Marcel, ensuring easy access to the surrounding islands and marine protected areas.

The team is led by Vincent, an SSI Instructor and BEES1 with over 40 years of experience, and Sylvie, a PADI instructor and E1 with over 25 years in the industry. Their combined expertise covers a wide range of diving disciplines and ensures a high level of professional oversight.

Instruction is provided through several major affiliations, including SSI, PADI, FFESSM, and ANMP. This allows the centre to cater to divers seeking different certification paths, from recreational courses to specialised training.

Safety and personalisation are managed through a strict diver-to-guide ratio, with a maximum of one guide per diver during excursions. This setup is designed to provide attentive supervision, whether you are a beginner on a discovery dive or an experienced diver on an exploration.

A comprehensive range of training is available through SSI and ANMP affiliations. Beginners can start with the SSI Scuba Diver or SSI Open Water Diver courses, while those looking for more advanced training can pursue the SSI Diver Stress & Rescue or specialized SSI specialties.

For those interested in technical or niche skills, the centre offers Nitrox certification and various SSI specialties including Wreck, Orientation, and Drift diving. They also provide the SSI Marine Life Package and the ANMP Niveau 1 and Niveau 2 programmes.

The centre operates a 7-metre semi-rigid boat (RIB) with a maximum capacity of 6 divers. This small vessel allows for easy manoeuvring around reefs and provides a more intimate experience for small groups.

Night dives are also conducted from the boat, allowing you to experience the local marine life after sunset. The boat serves as the primary platform for reaching sites like Tintamarre and the Rocher Créole.

The shop provides a full range of rental equipment, including regulators, BCDs, and wetsuits, with kit from reputable brands such as Mares, Seac, and Cressi. For those who prefer to bring their own gear, a full selection of marine accessories is also available for purchase.

Dive computers are available for hire if you do not have your own, though they are mandatory for most training courses. The centre also maintains a stock of high-quality marine equipment for snorkeling, swimming, and fishing.

The local waters are home to a variety of large pelagics and reef inhabitants. You can regularly encounter sharks, southern stingrays, and leopard rays patrolling the area, alongside various species of reef fish and sea turtles.

Between January and April, the presence of humpback whales and dolphins increases, making this the peak season for observing these larger mammals in their natural habitat.

On the reef flats and around the rocky structures, the biodiversity is high. You will find a variety of colourful reef fish amongst the corals, providing a constant source of interest for both snorkelers and divers.

Diving in this region is characterised by warm water temperatures that remain at a minimum of 26°C. The area is known for having very little current, which contributes to the calm conditions found at many of the sites.

Large-scale swells are generally not a primary concern, making the sheltered areas of the Nature Reserve particularly suitable for a wide range of experience levels.
