Grand Case Beach Club

Set on the seafront at Grand Case, this resort is built around two private beaches, an outdoor pool and rooms facing either the garden or the ocean. You can keep the day simple: swim, snorkel, eat, then retreat to an air-conditioned room with your own kitchenette when the Caribbean heat has done its work.

The feel is practical rather than overly formal. A library, a gift shop, outdoor seating, sun terraces and a restaurant all sit within the property, while Grand Case’s restaurants and bars are close enough to reach on foot. Couples have the option of a compact sea-view studio, but the larger suites make more sense if you want room to spread out or are travelling as a small family.

You are in Grand Case, on the French side of Saint Martin, directly beside the sea and along Petite Plage Beach, a smaller sandy beach connected to the property. Grand Case Beach is right by the hotel, while Anse Marcel Beach is about 2 miles away on foot or 3.7 miles by car. Orient Bay Beach is roughly 2.5 miles away by car.

This is a useful base if you like having alternatives once you are back on dry land. Le Pressoir is about 0.3 miles away, La Villa Restaurant about 0.3 miles, and Blue Martini about 0.4 miles. Zen'it Beach and Havana Club are also around 0.3 miles away. You can stay close to the hotel for dinner, or use the car rental service to explore further afield.

Grand Case-Espérance Airport is about 0.3 miles away, while Princess Juliana International Airport is around 5 miles from the resort. Anguilla Airport is about 6 miles away, though the crossing and onward arrangements are a separate matter rather than a quick hop by road.

The choice is mainly about how much space and which view you want. A Studio with Ocean View suits a couple who would rather wake up to the water than pay for a larger layout, while a garden-view studio keeps the same compact, self-contained approach. The loft option gives three guests more flexibility, with a sofa bed alongside the super-king bed.

For a couple who wants a proper living area, the One-Bedroom Suites offer a more comfortable base between outings. The Two-Bedroom Suites are the sensible choice for up to five guests, particularly when everyone needs somewhere to sit, unpack and stop pretending that dive bags can be kept tidy in a corner. Some deluxe ocean suites have two bathrooms, which is useful when the room is shared.

Air conditioning matters here, and every room has it. You also have a kitchenette with a refrigerator, microwave, oven, coffee machine and kitchenware, so water, breakfast supplies or a late snack do not have to become a full restaurant operation. Flat-screen television, a seating area, private bathroom, shower and hairdryer cover the less glamorous but useful parts of the evening. Daily housekeeping and room service are available.

The Sunset Café is the main dining address, serving French cuisine at breakfast, lunch and dinner. That gives you an on-site meal option at each end of the day, whether you want something before heading out or a proper plate when you return hungry. The property also has a bar and a snack bar, with wine and champagne available.

A barbecue is available for guests to use, adding a little independence to the kitchenette and making sense for evenings when you would rather stay put. Packed lunches can also be arranged, while room service covers the occasions when the shortest route from the sea to dinner is through your own door.

Grand Case itself gives you more choice within walking distance, including Le Pressoir, La Villa Restaurant and Blue Martini. You therefore have a French restaurant at the resort without being tied to it for every meal. That is the useful distinction: convenience on site, variety outside.

The two beaches are the obvious place to spend a non-diving day, with sun loungers, beach chairs and umbrellas available. You can swim, snorkel or use the non-motorised water sports included with your stay. Kayaking, paddleboarding and windsurfing are available, while kitesurfing, jet skiing, fishing and boat excursions add more active options when you have the energy for them.

The outdoor pool gives you another place to cool off without sand finding its way into every pocket. For a slower afternoon, the garden, sun terrace, library and outdoor seating provide enough variety for reading, dozing or watching the light change over the water. Temporary art galleries add something to look at that does not require fins.

The Zen Garden spa offers full-body and couples massages, along with energy care treatments. There is also an on-site gym, yoga and a massage chair. If your legs are still willing to work, golf, hiking and cultural excursions are available nearby, and the concierge can help organise activities.

Free public parking is available on site, with no reservation required. Wi-Fi is free in the public areas. You also have luggage storage, a tour desk, private check-in and check-out, daily housekeeping, laundry and a car rental service, all useful when your holiday involves more than moving between the beach and the restaurant.

Check-in starts at 16:00 and check-out is by 11:00. You need photo identification and a credit card at check-in. The check-in age is 18; guests under 18 can stay with a parent or official guardian, and children of all ages are welcome. Children aged 13 and over are charged as adults, while cots are available for children aged 0 to 2.

Pets are not allowed, and cash is accepted as a payment method. Cancellation and prepayment conditions vary by accommodation type, so the exact terms depend on the room you choose. Babysitting and children’s meals are available as additional services.

The resort uses desalination for its water supply. It is a straightforward piece of infrastructure, but a relevant one on an island where freshwater cannot be treated as an unlimited resource.
