Located at the entrance of Saint-Pierre in Martinique, DIAJ Plongée is situated at the heart of the Réserve Albert Falco. This protected marine area sits at the foot of Mount Pelée, providing immediate access to a diverse underwater landscape of canyons, reefs, and significant historical shipwrecks.

The centre is built on a foundation of environmental responsibility, operating with a collective of divers dedicated to preserving the natural and historical heritage of the northern Caribbean. Their approach focuses on a zero-emission footprint, ensuring that your presence on the water leaves no trace.

The team is led by experienced professionals, including Christophe BOUAOULO, a DEJEPS instructor and Nitrox instructor (OWSI DG), and co-founder Olivier. With over 35 years of experience in the region, the staff brings a deep understanding of the local underwater topography and marine ecosystems.

Instruction is tailored to a wide range of abilities, from children's programmes to advanced technical training. The centre maintains a focus on responsible diving practices and the transmission of maritime heritage to all levels of divers.

DIAJ Plongée offers a complete progression of training through various certification levels. Beginners can start with the N1 and N2 courses, with advanced training available through N3 and various technical levels including PE12, PE20, PE40, and PE60.

The curriculum also includes specialized training such as the RIFAP and technical diving modules. For younger divers, dedicated children's programmes are available to introduce them to the underwater world in a structured environment.

The centre operates an 11-metre solar-powered catamaran designed for ecological efficiency. Powered by dual 35 kw electric motors and supported by a 45m2 photovoltaic canopy, the vessel provides a quiet, vibration-free transit to the dive sites.

The boat is configured to carry up to 28 divers and features dedicated seating with integrated storage bins for your kit. For added convenience, the boat is equipped with an integrated air recharging system at each seat, allowing for easy cylinder management. Nitrox is available on board for those requiring extended bottom times.

Onshore, the centre is equipped with two 5.5 kw electric compressors used to fill cylinders, ensuring a zero-emission filling process. Full equipment hire is available for those not travelling with their own kit, including masks, fins, and computers.

The facility is located within the Madi Créoles residence, providing a comfortable base for divers. For night dives, torches and other essential accessories can be organised through the centre.

The marine life in the Réserve Albert Falco is diverse, with the reef flats and canyons hosting a variety of reef fish, corals, and sponges. You will regularly encounter sea urchins, various shells, and sea turtles while exploring the protected habitats.

Macro life and smaller inhabitants are abundant throughout the area. Divers can look for various species of sponges and corals that provide the structural complexity required for a healthy ecosystem.

The surrounding waters are a productive environment for a wide array of marine life, from the small organisms living within the reef structure to the larger pelagic species that occasionally pass through the canyons.

Diving in this region is possible year-round, with water temperatures typically ranging between 27°C and 30°C. The proximity to Mount Pelée and the protected status of the reserve provide a variety of sheltered and open-water environments.
