Plongee Immersion Caraibes

Immersion Caraïbes is an SSI-affiliated dive centre situated in the Marina du Marin, Martinique. The centre provides access to the warm, tropical waters of the island throughout the year, catering to everyone from first-time snorkelers to experienced professionals.

Operating with a focus on small-group diving, the centre typically takes between two and six divers per trip. This approach allows for a more attentive environment whether you are working on a certification or heading out for a guided exploration of the local reef flats and coral gardens.

The centre is led by Virginie, a BEES 1° diving instructor with over 22 years of experience, including extensive work in both Guadeloupe and Martinique. Her long-standing expertise provides a reliable foundation for the training and guided dives offered at the club.

Instruction is provided in French, English, Spanish, and German, making it accessible for international divers. The centre is an SSI school, meaning all training follows international standards, and they offer digital learning materials to help you prepare for your courses online before you even arrive on the island.

The training programme is comprehensive, covering the full SSI curriculum. Beginners can start with Try Scuba, Basic Diver, or Snorkeling. For those progressing through their qualifications, the centre offers Open Water Diver, Scuba Diver, and Advanced levels, including specific training for deeper dives such as the 40m and 60m levels.

Professional development is also available for those looking to advance their careers, with courses ranging from Dive Guide to Divemaster. Specialist training, such as the Nitrox course, is also provided to enhance your diving capabilities.

The centre operates a boat that carries a maximum of six divers. The vessel is moored at the quay, and cylinders are loaded on board to streamline the departure process. The boat is used for daily excursions, including night dives and reef explorations.

The centre provides various options for those needing kit, including mask and fin rentals. For those looking to dive the local reefs, they offer a range of training and exploration services. Nitrox is available on-site for divers looking to extend their bottom time or manage decompression more effectively.

The local reefs are characterised by vibrant marine life, including various tropical fish and colourful sponges that decorate the seabed. You will often encounter sea urchins and various species of soles resting on the bottom.

For those with an eye for detail, the area offers plenty of macro life. Keep a lookout for octopuses hiding in the reef structure, providing excellent opportunities for close-up observation.
